Not a problem on my car. I had a software update done by Audi a few months after buying the car and it's been fine since.

I very much doubt all low mileage Rs3's have one. My Rs3 is a year old and has done 1900 miles. I cycle to work so it's not driven daily.

Noticed some small chips on the rear wheel today when washing her. 7 months old and only done 1460 miles. I do have 12mm spacers on the front and 15mm on the rear, so could be the reason why it has chipped already. I have some AP arch guards that I have yet to fit so will be fitting them...

I've had the recall letter. If I got Audi to check the connector would they see my ASR valve controller?

Strange how he says "nice" after the RS3 starts up. Yet in some of his other carwow videos with an exhaust sound check, he says the 8Y is rubbish.

Just checked it's £30.49 a month now for that package.

Yeah saw it a while ago. It definitely seems to sound better with the Milltek. £2000 is a lot though if its only slightly better.

Ok thanks for posting. It would be interesting to hear if anybody else on the forum who has a Milltek race thinks it's a waste of money too.

Make sure engine is warm at normal running temp and drive select is in RS or dynamic and give it plenty of gas on start up and you will get the gun shots.

Have you heard the Milltek race back exhaust in person? I'm hoping to get one fitted in the next 3 to 4 weeks. From what I have read most people seem happy with it.

Fit an ASR valve controller and it will sound even better. How do you find the RS3 compares to the Golf R? I noticed a couple of new ones on Autotrader for £60,000...

My software has been updated by Audi though, as I had issues with wrong drive select showing on dash. If I was in auto on mmi it would show dynamic on dash.

I don't use the app very much. For me it seems to work fine the few times I have used it. Just checked it now and working how it should.

Ok thanks. I haven't launched mine yet so my count is at zero. I'm sure I read somewhere that the 8Y doesn't count launches in vcds but Audi technicians can access a hidden count. :grinning:

I was wondering, is there a maximum amount of launches the 8V and 8Y will let you do and can vcds detect how many launches the car has done and can this be cleared?

Yeah journalists, Youtubers anyone reviewing it really. I agree there is an element of truth to not many honest car reviews because of the car manufacturers. With my car there are a few things I'm not quite happy with and I still occasionally think would I'd of been happy with something else...

I've given up tweaking it. You can't polish a terd.

Though you don't see many bad reviews of the RS3 8Y. They are mostly good and positive.
