But given it's only done 30k miles in that time and I'm only doing around 3000 miles a year, could it wait? I read some posts that said the manual gives no time limit and a maximum mileage of 133,000 miles.
In my MOT last year I had two advisories re the rear suspension track control arm bushes being worn and a note that they were badly split/worn. They said I'd have to replace the whole arms as you can't just replace the bushes.
Is this definitely the case and if so, what could I expect to pay to...
Update: It was indeed the boot lock. Managed to get a new one off ebay for £39. Just fitted it and everything is working fine again. Can't see the leak from the rear washing anymore but will keep an eye on it.
Update: Had another look this morning and looks like the lock might be the problem. When I push the latch up it does not lock into position. Also ran some diagnostics and it came up with the below error. Assuming this is just because the lock won't close?

The boot on my 2010 Audi A3 won't lock. I was out earlier and noticed that when I locked the car the lights weren't coming on when I pressed the keyfob multiple times (which it normally does). Then when I came back to the car to drive home the dash warned that the boot was unlocked and I haven't...
Car has now been fixed. The garage ran their diagnostics and it came up with the following fault codes:
P067100 CYLINDER 1 GLOW PLUG CIRCUIT ( STATIC )
P067400 CYLINDER 4 GLOW PLUG CIRCUIT ( STATIC )
They've now replaced all four glow plugs and all seems to be working fine. Not a cheap job at...
I've just phoned my local garage and they think it's possible an issue with the glow plugs has caused the dpf not to regenerate which is why the car has gone into limp mode. Best case scenario would be needing to replace faulty glow plugs and do a dpf regen.
Unfortunately I don't have the...
I have a 2010 Audi A3 2.0 TDI. Was driving home to London from Wales on Saturday and about 30mins from home an engine management light came on (the coil) and the car went into limp mode. I managed to get home after stopping a couple of times and switching the engine off (which removed the light)...
So I've now found the part number: 1J0 973 722. This connects to an 'Inlet Manifold Flap Solenoid'. My thinking is to buy a new 2-pin connector with wiring attached, then just connect the wires together. What would be the best way to connect the wires together?
Thanks. The garages who quoted be £1,000 clearly didn't see the split cable. I only actually need a new connector though - anyone know what part number this is?
I've had an issue with my EGR valve for a while and an engine management light lit up on the dash.
Two garages have told me that I need to replace my EGR cooler at a cost of around £1000. Because of the cost and the fact I was told the car is fine to drive, I've continued driving without any...
Fair points. I still think there's a potential loss in vehicle value though, even with the fix applied.
Also, why did owners in the USA get compensation?
Loss in value of the car? Increased cost of running the car due to false economy figures? Falsely buying a thinking car believing it's low emissions? Inconvenience of having to take your car to the garage for repair?
The company has been dishonest to its customers and should be held accountable...
Apologies if this has been posted before, couldn't see anything when I searched.
Read an article this week about the launch of a lawsuit in the UK against VW re the emissions scandal. It's a '£30 million lawsuit from 10,000 VW Group owners in the UK, each asking for £3,000 in compensation'...
