I used LUK as this is what is supplied from Audi genuine parts, parts still cost £600 with my discount. About £500 cheeper than Audi. It took longer to get the dual mass off than taking the trans out as it was that shagged. Mine had locked solid and needed pursuation with a large hammer to get...
Well at last after several months of scraping £600 together just for the parts, 4 hours grafting, and a lot of swearing at a seized flywheel. It is now done.
My A6 sport quatttro is like a new car again. smooth as glass and revs round to the red line without trying to shake my teeth out.
The...
Well after a weekend that has gone to *****. I Didn't get to change the dual mass or the have a look at the slip ring.
I was thinking about the lube's to try, wd40, maybe not as this could be electrically conductive. depending on access i was going to try petroleum jelly.
Sorry, not had a chance yet. Been working my *** off..... Boooo.
Anyway i am changing the Dual mass and clutch tomorrow. If i have time i will hit it with a hammer to see if that helps.......
i have the same issue, i have looked on etka and elsa to see if there are bushes or a lube interval without success. going to pull the column shrouds off and see if a dribble oil lube down the cloumn cures it.
if would guess that is a kit with all the tensioners. if so, i would take that as it a cheep price. but make sure the belt is a conti brand. other cheeper types snap at a join.
Just to get access to the belt is time consuming, may as well change it along with the water pump and thermostat (assuming this engine has it located behind the pulleys)
Don't skimp on the belt quality, if the belt lets go. its big time engine rebuild. for the sake of £50 for a belt its better...
This would be a very isolated incident as all Audi's use rolling key codes, this is a system that make it very difficult for code to be scanned as it rotates different codes between the key and cars ecu. without the codes matching the car would not be unlocked or started. What this system does...
the cause of my water in the harness was due to a leaking pollen filter. this filled the passenger floor up with water. several inches worth, over time this worked its way along the length of the harness to the multi plug, in turn causing a short and all sorts of issues. i changed the harness...
just to check, remove the multi plug from the trans, and check for water/dampness, this will fool the trans ecu into doing weird things. i had this on my A4, and after an expensive trans rebuild it turns out to be water in the trans harness.
matching brand is not an issue, you dont have to worry to much about tread depth, it may show a abs fault on the dash if you have brand new tyres on one axle and the other axle is worn to the limits. apparently the rolling radius tolerance is affected and can cause damage to the rear diff.
it...
it is, but the pollen housing seal is also a leak point. every audi i have owned has had the same problem. It is a common problem on most models. just lift up the carpet to check.
According to Etka to correct wheels size, offset for your car is 8j x18H2 ET 43 5/112
on the RS6 the sizes and off set is all wrong for your car. They use ET's on 18" 20 & 30. On 19"'s they use ET 35.
i have a A6 sport quattro, i managed to get some 18" sline wheels with an ET of 43 to fit...
18's will fit but you will need to go to a 40 profile, this will give you the clearance on the front upper wishbones. as for the offset this seems to small. i would have expected a ET of 45 ish. Have a look on the back of one of your wheels to see the offset on there. it needs to be +/- 2mm
I...
hi all
i have a bit of an ongoing issue with a leak in the passenger footwell, it only leaks when i go through a car wash, heavy rain is not problem.
The leak drips from behind the dash onto the carpet, this indicates the pollen filter area to me.
I have removed the pollen filter housing...
I had been told that the issue was the service intervals, in fact i have just changed the oil this week. I even had to advise the motor factors that the oil they were supping was the wrong grade, they tried to give me 15w40. In an V6 this is like crude oil, but i still had to question the guy...
