Thanks m8:thumbsup:- yep, thats what I think. With regards to the temp gauge, new coolant temp sensor and the fuel gauge, fuel sender or sensor? Really not sure on the whole new instrument panel thing because I really dont think its needed, but hey I`m no car mechanic and the works getting done...
My cars in at the garage to get some work done under warranty - the fuel gauge and temp gauge arent working and they have said it needs a new instrument panel. Now, is this a common occurence on A4s or is the garage playing it easy by just saying they will replace the panel anyway? - pretty sure...

Fuel gauge is sticking, turn on the car and it just sits as if the car has a full tank of petrol - you can see the needle flickering when you turn on the ignition - any ideas? someone did mention fuel sender
See when the dis says 0 miles left, how many miles will be left in the reserve tank then? how do yo accurately work out mpg? I have seen 145 - 150 miles to 20 quid and that was v power, does this make a difference? maybe my car is running ok I am just constantly driving with one eye on the dis lol!
1.8 T quattro - I know that with it being quattro it will be heavy on fuel - dont know exact mpg, I go by the dis display cos my fuel gauge isnt working just now - the dis mpg goes down in increments of 5 mpg and just seems to disappear lol! - I dont leather the car either and my journey to work...
Right, i`ve come to the conclusion that my car is just a thirsty ******, no sooner have I filled it up it seems to have disappeared! :faint:- what would be the best way to get my car setup so that its running properly? use a rolling road or maybe vag-com? - thanks for any advice guys
Hi folks - just disconnected my battery to see if it would fix my faulty fuel gauge, but, after reconnecting it, the ESP light has come on and wont go out now -suffice to say it didnt fix the gauge either! - anyone know how to turn it off again? (and yes I have pushed the esp button :rolleyes:)...
I know what you mean m8, my V plate Golf GTi had the full display in it and my Audi only has mpg left - I think it depends on the trim level of the car?
