Great engine with Chain drive instead of cambelt. Dont know about seats but looks doubtful unless you get a trimmer to do the job. The one i had used to do about 26 MPG. Tyres are expensive if still on standard alloys. Chassis not good enough for the power. Russ

Hi all, My APT engine went kaput due to oil pump failure. I have another APT engine out of a Passat (2000) but the sumps are different. The drain plug is on the other side compared to my Audi engine and in its place there is some kind of sender unit. Shall i just swap the sumps over or is...

My engine has finally given up after oil pump failure. It is an APT engine. Question is can i buy one from say a Passat as long as its code APT. Is there anything else i should be aware of ?. Thank all. Russ.

Hey all, Does anyone know of a high capacity Oil Pump for my B5 Avant 1.8 Non turbo APT engine. Mines failed but have put diesel in engine to clean and flushed with cheap oil then used a quality 5w 40 and all seems fine up to now. Sounded like a diesel before so i may have got off...

Hi all, Can anyone tell me the differences between these 2 engines. My Oil Pump has failed and engine is terminal.:( My engine number starts with APT but does'nt seem to be many about but quite a few ADR ones about. Will an ADR fit? Many thanks on this expensive day. Russ.
