Nope, I mean ABS. My car doesn't have ESP... But do you have an idea if it was the ESP?

When I was larking about in the snow on the way home, I noticed that when the ABS kicks in the headlights would dim slightly. Is this normal behaviour? Can anyone shed some light (cough) on what is happening? Oh and the car is a 2000 A3 Quattro.
