    3" Cat-Back system

Nice one Nick, thanks for getting involved. I strangely didn't think to look for a mk4 system! I only want the cat back part of the system but at that price I wont cry about that, lol. Do you think it will fit to my Miltek down pipe?

    3" Cat-Back system

As the title suggests....... I currently have a full Miltek system for my FWD A3 1.8T. What I would like is a 3" cat-back system to match up to my Miltek 3" down pipe. Does anyone know of any pre made systems or would this be a custom job?? Cheers.

Good and best discs and pads for lcr brembos??

As the title suggest I would like some feedback on this please. What are good pad and disc combinations? For every day use to occasional fast road. What are the best pad and disc combinations? That will work in every day use but really come into their own under serious braking. I currently...

    Induction Air Filter Intake Kit

I like the idea but cant speak from personal experience. On my old NA car I adapted the air intake so it swept right down to the bottom of the front bumper and attached the twin cone air filter to it so the opening of the air filter was getting air straight into it. I have to say it made an...

    Porsche 997 rear calipers advise

I have to admit that when I was looking for Brembo four pots for my A3 that I was more or less conned into believing from the seller, that this was a brake upgrade. Got reconditioned rear Cayenne callipers with pads and VAG fitting kit for 312mm discs at what I though was a good price. Even with...

    Induction Air Filter Intake Kit

I have to assume you started in the right place, your car is a 1.6 right? I guess the reason you have a spare pipe to connect, with nothing about in the instructions is because your car is 2002. The listing says 1996 - 2001. If it is anything like 2002 1.8T that extra pipe is for the SAI pump...

my a3 project (not everyone's cup of tea) but I'm happy so far.

The N249 delete is really quite easy to do. Have a read through this: http://uk-mkivs.net/topic/17401-my-guide-to-removing-the-n249-valve-with-pictures/ This guide is brilliant, very clear photos and easy to understand.

my a3 project (not everyone's cup of tea) but I'm happy so far.

Looking good mate. I love the green hoses, they looks sic. Defiantly worth doing the N249 delete, although if you ever intend to remove the SAI system it make sense to do both together. The later is a lot more time consuming but it will tidy up your bay massively and if the SAI pump dies you...

    Front ARB bushes

Anyone know if there are uprated rubber bushes for the standard front A3 ARB? Or if anyone's got experience with the poly variates, what they think of them etc. Thanks.

    Anyone done a twincharged 1.8/1.9/2.0/2.1.. 20v

In the 1980's, the group B rally cars were turbocharged and supercharged with huge success, so much so in fact that they were banned outright! This is my personal favourite, the noise really is something else. AWESOME is one word. 600bhp, 890 kg and can go from 0-100 kph in 2.5 seconds...

    My A3 1.8T

Good news is the below fault has been sorted out by the new main lambda sensor. Bit weird how that links to the the brakes but there you go. The old sensor came out by soaking it in old engine oil, better than having to take the whole down pipe off to get the ****** out! Address 03: ABS Brakes...

    Turbo air intake

It's a Creations Motorsport hose, nothing wrong with it at all. That price is the same price as is on their website. Only thing to note is it is specifically for AUM or AUQ engines code, so if your car has either of those engine codes and you like red, then it is all good.

    My A3 1.8T

Had the six speed gearbox on the car for about two weeks now. Wow, what a piece of kit. Took a while to get used to the new sports clutch because the springs are pretty damn strong (green springs), even thought the action is still quite light because of the single mass flywheel. Really showed up...

    upgrades while doing head gasket

All fair comments. I suggested the V2 version purely because they are purpose made for 300-500hp, 300-400 being something hybrids can manage. Thinking of, for example the TTE 390 for 1.8T's for attaining that power. I know that the highest gains are up the top but surely they give better power...

    upgrades while doing head gasket

I agree with antwan. If cooling is a big concern of yours it should be at the top of the list before extra power is considered. But seeing as it looks like you will be rebuilding your top end, if it's going to be completely refreshed then you may well find some extra hp from doing that. But...

    Engine rebuild

Well I have the spec's for the Ibiza equivalent engine. New is between 145-188psi and maximum wear limit is 101psi. With maximum difference between between the cylinders is 43psi. If the compression ratio is the same on all 1.8T blocks I should be able to use this as a guide right?

    Engine rebuild

Does anyone know the compression tolerance's for these engines? Am I right to assume all Mk IV chassis 1.8T blocks are the same reguardless of engine code? Mine is AUM.

    S3 parts on A3

Just want some clarification on a few things please. I understand that when you fit an S3 MAF to an A3 it can only be done when your car is ready for it to be mapped in. But is that your car literately gets mapped to that MAF or do you need to install the A3 element from inside the MAF...

    Amping rear speakers and sub

Thanks again Dan, much appreciate your help. I have two options to consider now with is all ways good. As regards to an amp, if I were to run the rear speakers and the sub from one, I should get a 4 channel right? But would only use 3 of the 4 channels.
