If it's the late 190bhp model - 53/04 onwards it should map to 210 with around 220+ torque which is a significant gain (in torque)...looking into this myself.

ihave the 190t and been looking at maps on standard vehicle - r-tech suggested 200-210bhp and around 225lbs whichis an impressive increase (torque and the improvement that suggests in drive as long as it retains 'smooth'). Can you let me know what you are expcting from the TIP and 225 injectors...

i agree with what you say but i do feel if you are after saving money then stick with what you've got as the 1.8t WILL give good mpg if thats what your after - getting an 'old' new car normally involves spending money after it's been purchased so you wont really 'save' any money over the next...

interestingly i've always used 5/40 on 1.8t's (quantum) but my garage suggested 5/30 would be better - i've always looked for the vw502 / 505 spec but what are people putting in their 1.8t's ...

it really needs to state meets spec vw 502 or 505 (can't remember which one but i'dnot rely on the spec you mention but look for specific ref to vw 50*).

my old s3 51 plate never used oil either......and my 1.8t avant 190 is not going through any so far in 1k miles.....

if i push the connector on will this get rid of light on dash or do i need to dis-connect battery or have fault cleared (assuming it's just been disturbed)?

Can't remember...may have moved seat back on runner but air bag light is on. Thinking i should check plug at under seat then perhaps take battery off - will this clear the fault 'air bag' on dash or is this likely to be more (sensor or something then needing vagcom to clear/reset)? Any ideas...

Just bought my petrol avant recently so been looking at these for a while. I'd suggest it's worth £4,750 - £ 5,000 in private sale (advertise at 5k and take a couple hundred quid less if you get people through the front door). If it were an '04 plus plate i think it would acheive £5,500 easy...

Had the car a couple of weeks now ans replaced temp sender, cam belt, tensioner, water pump and fresh oil 5w40. Ordered new white 5,000k bulbs all round including rear number plate and mats off e-bay (ordered the audi ones for £90 (incl 10% disc) and they did not match seats or carpet!!!!)...
