Tbh the main bubbling pic looks like paint, you need to scratch it as tbh mate it's not going to make any difference if it's paint as the whole wheel would be done anyway, so I'd see what happens when you try to dislodge.
Nice, but be careful displaying plate, location etc as being an RS, these are targeted, so always be in your feet so to speak, maybe blank plate detail, although bit late now, enjoy the car, great colour.
Lol fair point.
I'll be honest, doesn't look too bad, it's a hell of an engine, lovely power, I love the S5 sportback, it's stunning on the road.
Was it an Audi dealer service or indy?
Oh sorry I misread, not sure it looks really old tbh, it's not super dark.
Just do a change & maybe check it again in few months.
Assuming you're not having any engine issues.
Did they flash on lock before the issue?
If so then basically it's detected a door, bonnet or boot lock is not showing as closed.as thats why they stop flashing on lock, if coded to do so that is.
Does the rear wiper work, check wiper movement & the jet wash.
Do the indicators flash when you click lock?
Sounds like bonnet lock or a door lock has a fault, ideally need to diagnose it key lock signal is received by the car with mvb's & check each door module & conv module for signals received.
Tbh I'm loathe to disagree with your wife's ex colleague, you don't often or generally hear of that happening these days, unless it's a non Audi garage with no experience on doing the job before.
It's not beyond possibility they didn't damage something in the process, I do find it quite strange...
Someone has probably used for bikes & didn't take care with fitting as this usually isn't something I see happen to rails tbh, all comes down to the user & there level of delicate for a better word.
Even if they did polish, you'd probably be left with indents where these scratches are as you...
Tbh best way forward is to swap the rails for either new or used that are in a good condition as repairing them on car is probably not going to happen either well or to any level your like, even new plating, chroming etc they'd have to be removed anyway.
It's not the greatest job to do, but if...
Tbh nothing surprises me on audi's now, quality is very questionable as are the ridiculous prices they want for cars now.
How can one not look at brands like byd etc even if it's just to compare, the difference can be vast & the tech isn't & if anything they include, unlike vag that charges you...
Maybe the C5 had a different design, I'd have to check etka & elsawin, as I can't recall but most Audi's I've worked on quattro split the pumps across, if yours didn't have the split then guess it's not the same.
