Mine's a 2008 140 Sportback - I have matched tyre spec. each pair (apart from Winters which are a lower speed rating) and they are 91W. A quick look at the book of words doesn't appear to provide a definitive answer (and it's getting chilly out there!) so I won't come back with a flippant "rtfm"!
Is this not the old "creak" issue? The door rubbers dry out a bit and rub the edge of the roof. If you open the windows just a little this reduces the inward pressure just a bit and no creak
Various remedies have been suggested here including wax crayon!
I've used a silcon based body "wax"...
I have PS3's rear January, 15k miles and ContiSport3 front December 14k miles. Last time I looked the rears appeared to be disappearing faster than the fronts! AutoExpress rated the Contis top a little while ago
I was lucky and got Mich PS3 (pair) for £230 fitted locally (SW Devon) - 224/45/17 Z. Seem very good and all the tramlining on the original factory P Zero Rosso has gone. Quieter too
I've added a triimmed sheet of that "woffle" stuff: nothing shifts :)
Mind you it sticks to anything you take out of the boot and gets rucked up............
Anyone yet tried the new Pilot Sport 3? I've just ordered 2 for the back of the A3 & managed to get £115 each all in (225/45 17) Main dealer quoted £125 for ContiSport 3 so this looks like a bargain

Nice! Almost exactly 2 years since I did the same (different spec. though). First time I've EVER had a factory order (and first time I've ever owned a car without a VW badge on it!)
Enjoy
Try this as well from the comfort of your parlour:

£25 for 5x5L plus £6.95 = £31.95 div 5 = £6.39 per Litre or (if I read correctly!) - say £30 for 6L plus £6.95 = £36.95 div 6 = £6.16
I think we have had discussions on the forum before. My car's weather seal appears to move slightly against the edge of the roof, with road vibrations, an application of wax or something to smooth this appears to work (but not for too long). Another suggestion was to rub the felt surface with...
I have a Brilliant Red A3 and I think it looks - well - brilliant. That said my neighbour's A4 Avant S Line in Missano looks spectacular. (Although his wife prefers my colour!)
