    Recaro seat issue

The reason I changed my interior, other than the condition, is that was that the height adjustment had failed on the drivers seat. I'm not sure whether it was a switch, wiring or motor fault. So I can't be sure the switches are OK. I can have a look on Monday (they're stored at work) and let...

    Recaro seat issue

    Hey, I've got a heavily battered grey/black Alcantara 2001 S3 interior if you're interested.

    B8 or B14s?

Thanks for the link Karl, they are significantly cheaper there aren't they. As far as the weight thing goes, when I used to help set up a mates racecar we could alter cross weights just by adjusting ride heights, but I suppose we were just talking small percentages! I've not tracked the S3...

    B8 or B14s?

Thanks for the reply Andy, the B16s or Kw equivalent are great in theory, but if im totally honest I tend to get lost with too much adjustability (bad enough on my mountainbike!). I quite like how the car sits as it is on eibachs, but thought bringing the back down slightly might firm up the...

    B8 or B14s?

My S3 has been my daily driver for over 3 years and 50k miles, but now has been promoted/relegated to my weekend fun car. With this in mind its time to replace the tired struts. My first choice was the bilsein b8s keeping my eibach springs, but currently there are sets of b14 coilovers on ebay...

    What have you done today?

Today I have been mostly making gallons of tea for guru Bill at Badger5. I gotta say what a top man and well worthy of the high praise he receives on here. I could write paragraphs of glowing review but that would no doubt be viewed with scepticism by forum cynics, so I'll just add my name to...

    Yet Another Boost Problem.

    Yet Another Boost Problem.

Yeah 1.2bar. I thought that might be the case. I kinda hoped the Revo settings would just work ok still. So be it, sounds like I'm going to be needing to get it booked in for a mapping session then Bill. What else would you recommend before that? I don't know of any other issues.

    Yet Another Boost Problem.

No, that reading was from a dash mounted boost gauge. If we adjust the actuator arm, what boost would you recommend? (Forged rods and pistons in a rebuild 40k ago)

    Yet Another Boost Problem.

Ok, I think I follow you. I've just had a run up the road and it read 1270mbr of boost. So maybe the actuator arm could be the issue here. If I let him adjust it and it's not the problem, I assume it can just be readjusted? Maybe I should just bring it to you. I've always thought you'd be the...

    Yet Another Boost Problem.

No, I don't but I might no a man who can log it. As far as I know the ECU hasn't been touched. The mechanic said he will adjust the actuator rod today, but I was looking for confirmation on this before he does. Sorry Bill, I'm probably not helping here but I do appreciate your help.

    Yet Another Boost Problem.

No Mbc fitted For the life of me I can't remember what it was boosting, gotta be my age! Would I be right in thinking I'd seen 1.54 bar on the liquid gauge? Sorry I can't be more use, I'm no mechanic.

    Yet Another Boost Problem.

Firstly let me apologise for another boost issue thread. I've been running a 325hp Backdraft big turbo kit on my AMK for 70k miles now, and never had an issue until a week ago when the turbo died on me. rather than making the long trip to backdraft, I thought I'd trust the job to my local race...

Can any body recommend a cycle carrier for an s3

I always carry my bikes on a Thule roof carrier, personally I feel they're far safer up there out the way. Bikes hanging off the back of a car are far too vulnerable for my liking, not just from other traffic but also little tow-rags with light fingers! Just my opinion though

    What power to upgrade internals?

when mine went it left the engine via the sump taking the oil pump with it, i suppose it just depends which route it takes whether the head, cams, crank etc can be salvaged. suffice to say you're likely to be faced with a serious repair bill should a rod let go. Its a big gamble to take.

    What power to upgrade internals?

If you're getting backdraft to fit the turbo kit then have them upgrade the internals at the same time, they offer deals on that I think. My car has the same kit and the rods lasted 11000 miles before letting go. From experience I'd say it's false economy not to upgrade, but then you could be...

    Hindhead tunnel noise!

Yep saw them, but saw the average speed limit warning signs on the way in and the cameras on the way out! I must be getting to cautious in my old age I guess! Ok next time I'll do it properly, prizes for the fastest time through the tunnel is it??

    Hindhead tunnel noise!

How exciting to have a tunnel here in the south UK at long last, I drove it today in the hope of creating that lovely tunnel sound only to find a average speed check of 40mph!! Here's a small clip trying to keep the speed down. I imagine this post is in the wrong forum, sorry in advance if it is.
