Have a look here: http://www.ozaudi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27589 I would also check the lambda sensor

Erratic / rough idle in 8P S3 - and how it was fixed

Just thought I'd post this for the sake of anyone that gets these faults and decides to use the search function: I had rough idling - When pulling up to a stop, the revs wouldn't drop all the way down to ~800rpm, instead lingering around 1000rpm and then slowly rising to approx 1300rpm and...

    PROBLEM!!! with my s3 8p

Still under warranty by any chance? Scan with VCDS (vagcom) for a proper error description, or take it to the dealers and ask them

    Emission Control Light

Some faults are practically harmless for day to day driving whereas others need to be checked immediately. In the absence of any other dramatic message on the DIS, I'd say (in my non-mechanic's opinion) it's safe to get it to a workshop, but wouldn't want to do too much more without at least...

    Emission Control Light

Find someone with VAGCOM / VCDS and see if it finds any codes. Apparently (and I'm going off what an Audi tech said to me), their VAS whatever systems don't report the same faults as VCDS, or require a higher frequency to appear as faults. My VCDS showed a logged fault (about idle control RPM...

    VCDS tweak for DRLs?

And just figured out fog lights for DRLs (instead of the proper DRL bulbs next to the bixenons) Central Electronics Long coding Byte 21, bit 0-2 Change from 05 Bi-Xenon Front Light with separate Daytime Running Lights (DRL) to 04 Bi-Xenon Front Light without additional High Beam This enables the...

    VCDS tweak for DRLs?

Thanks, this is partially the solution... With this, front indicators both come on and stay on when the main bixenon headlights are on (and on low-beam (or whatever it's called) too)

    VCDS tweak for DRLs?

I have a DRL switch (well on/off spinning dial anyway), it's just that it controls the bulbs next to my bixenons, not the fogs/indicators

    VCDS tweak for DRLs?

Maybe. And also probably in Australia too but I would like to know if it is possible...

    VCDS tweak for DRLs?

Hello all, I have a pre-facelift 8P S3... Was wondering how this kind of behavior can be enabled using VCDS / Vagcom: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i244/kciker337/DSC_0244.jpg Using fog lights and/or indicators as DRLs. Have had a look around module 09 at the long coding and I can't figure...

What would you like to do with it? Taking logs is easy.

    RNS-E replaced under warrenty.....

Need access to VAGCOM / VCDS http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Audi_Radio/Navigation_System_(RNS-E) Change coding to 02xxxxx. Change adaptation channel 018 to 1. Restart the RNS-E.

People who have suffered faulty DMF.....

Yet plenty of people have reported identical symptoms and had it rectified with a new DMF.

People who have suffered faulty DMF.....

No, and no... No shaking, just slip at peak torque that regains grip after slipping for ~500rpm; fine otherwise

    Thoughts on Bose?

Bose is standard on S3s sold in Australia. Can't be spec'ed without it... Mine arrived without Bose though and got a cheque for AU$1900. This was discovered due to the lack of Bose trims on the doors. A few other people here had a similar thing happen. I'd say if it's got Bose trims, you've got...

People who have suffered from a faulty dual mass flywheel...

Usually more problems as you hit peak torque. (late 2k, up to around 4k rpm). It will seem like clutch slip, (revs spike up about 500rpm without corresponding lurch forward) but then it drops back down to where it should be for your road speed/gear. Most notable when there is a lot of load on...

Can anyone interpret these logs for me?

Hey, that's actually what I read prior to taking logs haha... but someone had ripped it onto their site that I found in google. So my main problems (as I see them) are that the lambda regulator is hitting +25%, and the negative angle delay values... Anyone know what either mean and what might...

Can anyone interpret these logs for me?

Hello all, Got myself a VCDS cable and decided to log a few runs based on some reading I did on the internets... Pre-facelift 8P S3, GIAC, 3rd gear, WOT, engine warmed up. Car drives fine, no error codes... I would like to know if the lambda regulator values and the angle delay values (what...
