A5 Sportback Rear Windscreen Demister Issue

Hi everyone, I’m having a recurring problem with a rear windscreen on an A5 sportback s-line (19 plate). This has been a great car but I’m wondering if there is a design issue. The car had its seals replaced by Audi and yet again I’m getting build up of condensation inside the rear windscreen...

Long delays for new orders due to WLTP emissions testing

I should also say its the A5 sportback 35 TFSi - but I believe its very similar in weight and the sane engine spec as the A4...as far as I know I

Long delays for new orders due to WLTP emissions testing

The A6 is a heavy car so I might have expected the 150 A4 to compare fairly well to the A6 177 but obviously not. I should have test drove but it was a pre built model and I had a deadline. When you say underpowered - did it simply feel brisk as opposed to rapid? My wife has a 2.0tdi golf dsg...

Long delays for new orders due to WLTP emissions testing

Hi - yes I believe the tfsi is very smooth - especially if you’re used to diesel. A bit concerned about ‘lack of power’ - I would have expected it to still be pretty brisk. Its all relative of course to what you’re used to!

Long delays for new orders due to WLTP emissions testing

Thanks for sharing that. I’m coming from a class plug in hybrid with almost 300bhp so I’m expecting it to feel slower. The interesting thing is though that I’ve driven a 190psi VW engine and it felt very quick - even in comparison to my c class. So it will be interesting to see how the 150...

Long delays for new orders due to WLTP emissions testing

Hi, Have you got the new 2.0tfsi 150 engine? Can you tell me whar its like? Got one coming on lease but didnt know whether I should have gone for the ‘40’ tfsi (190ps). Mark

    A5 Sportback 1.4tfsi

Will do, cheers I’ve taken a gamble and leased this without test driving as the car was built and in the UK and I have a deadline but I’m just wondering if I’ll regret it! I mean it will be a lovely car but dont want it to be sluggish. Looking at reviews of the 1.4tfsi this seems a mixed bag...

    A5 Sportback 1.4tfsi

Does anyone have any experience or views on the new A5 35 150 engine? It seems to replace the old 1.4 engine block with a higher capacity engine but same horsepower. I'm sure the 2L 190PS is the best choice but lease and insurance cost cheaper and I'm just wondering if it's going to have...

    1.4tsi cod vs 2.0tdi

Hi kanecullen89, Thanks for your reply. I have had a few tdi based cars and I am happy with the performance and economy but I fancied something a bit different and perhaps more sporty too. However, I think you could be right that for my mileage the diesel might be best. Only thing is that I...

    1.4tsi cod vs 2.0tdi

Hi everyone, can you help? I am deliberating over which engine to choose here. I am ordering an A3 company car and I will be doing long commutes on busy motorways with an annual mileage of about £20K a year. The thing is that my company car tax saving with the petrol is £720 a year. The cost...

    A3 Saloon / Sportback - Which suspension?

Do you find the standard reasonably firm and agile? As I said, I really like the Seat Leon SE suspension but I think its quite firm for SE, and certainly firmer than a Golf SE I drove.

    A3 Saloon / Sportback - Which suspension?

Hi everyone, Bit of dilemma to consider. I want to buy an A3 Saloon S-Line (which i think drives very much like the sportback). After reading a whole load of reviews, it's been recommended that I select standard suspension over sport or s-line. The car comes with 18in wheels as standard since...

Anyone broke their Indigo blue glovebox?

Hi, I'm interested in the glovebox. Is it new? I will need to check whether it can fit my 2004 A4 Cabriolet so any marking / model numbers would be useful. Mark

What MPG do you get from your 1.8T?

£380 is impressive Nickynibbles but it does depend what area you are in of course. For you - the difference may be marginal but elsewhere it could make a big difference. Don't get me wrong though - I would love the 3.0! although the 1.8T is still 'adequately fiesty' and very refined. Mark

only problem is you pay the insurance premium for the 3.0!

    judder on pull off!

I have a 54 plate Audi A4 Cabriolet 1.8T. I experience the clutch judder every now and again in 1st gear. Its from cold. Audi have officially told me that they are aware of the issue and its due to the design of the clutch system and the release of a fluid (sounds like it helps grease the...

    A4 Cabriolet - Tracking / Alignment

Thanks everyone for your comments. Yes - it does feel like I have to hold on with both hands sometimes. My wheels are standard Audi 17" wheels. I take the point on Kwik Fit. I think I'll go elsewhere. Mark

What MPG do you get from your 1.8T?

I have a 1.8T A4 Cabriolet. I had a 1.8 (non-turbo) and a 2.0TDI before this. First off, lets forget the TDI because as you would expect I got about 50mpg. I was told the 1.8T would be quite thirsty and it is but I generally get around 28-30MPG. On my run to Scotland I got 35mpg. My old 1.8...
