The new plastic vained water pumps have been improved and made thicker in the place that fails all the time,the garage that fitted mine showed me the difference.

I had exactly the same problem and it was the water pump at fault. It is expensive to replace - cost me £230, because the front of the car has to come off including the Cam Belt. What mileage does the car have? If the cambelt has already been replaced check to see if the water pump was replaced...

Or just fit coilovers and fine tune the drop until you are happy

The 30 or 20mm lowered springs will be quoted as lowering the car from standard (ie se) ride height so you will notice very little difference, if any from the standard sports suspension mate.

Quick update guys, after ringing around the local Audi specialists I managed to get a quote of £229 supplied and fitted - that'll do for me! Quattrojames - The Cambelt was changed by the previous owner at an Audi Dealership. A quick word of warning to all owners who do not already know, when...

Mileage is 75k, Cam belt was changed 15K ago but the water pump was not changed at the same time, according to Audi they only use do this on the larger engines ie, V8, 3.0 or 2.5TDI units - GRRRR
