Hi. Only noticed regen twice when I've stopped after a long motorway run. First time it did it I'd only had the car a couple of months. It is a really hot acrid smell that concerned me enough to speak to my dealer master technician who confirmed from my description that it was the dpf purging...
Update for you. Booked car in for service and apparently the gearbox oil doesn't need changing after all. Not required until around the 70 to 80,000 mark. Very surprised but pleased my local indi is saving me money and not doing unnecessary work. Wonder what the main dealer would have said??
Welcome to the forum. The general consensus seems to be that the Mk1 is better built than the new ones. They're built in Mexico and owners report numerous build quality issues. I've had mine nearly 5 years and love it. My local independent (East Yorkshire) enabled ADS for me - took about 20...
Not yet, having it done at 5 year service in January. My local garage (independent Audi specialist owned by Audi Master Technician) informed me the gearbox oil doesn't need changing until 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes sooner.
Thought I had a pano roof issue on my 2015 SQ5. The rattle was intermittent and I convinced myself I was heading for a roof mod or regrease etc (mega bucks as out of warranty) until I read a thread on another forum about the warning triangle in the tailgate rattling around. Took mine out and...
Bought a full set of Goodyear Eagles in September (approx £880 fitted) after a long discussion with my local tyre supplier and comparing the various brands on offer. Had been running Pirreli's before. The Goodyears are noticeably quieter and the ride/steering response is much better. Very happy...
Interesting pathway to the SQ5. I came from a 8V S3 Sportback. Had mine nearly 3 years now and love it. The power (particularly the torque of the 3 litre V6) is addictive and I average about 38 mpg on a motorway run - so win win. Desirable, though not essential but come trade in time might be...
Yep good result but as Steve said the running costs of the RS4 will hit your wallet harder than an SQ. Having driven the RS4 I would be tempted too but do you really fancy £500 pa road tax and 20mpg?RS front brakes and discs are £1000 a shot too!
I came to SQ5 ownership from a 8v S3 via a A3 cab (don't ask) and don't miss the S3. Yes it's a pocket rocket but also an osteopaths delight. The Sq5 ride is more compliant (stillbfirm on 21's but they are a must) and the performance is not wanting. 0 - 60 in 5 seconds for a 2 ton vehicle not...
After trawling the internet i decided to stick with the oem pirelli p zero's. New boots seem to be more robust than the ones put on at the factory and appear to be wearing well. Don't know where you are based but i used Ian Brown tyres in Malton North Yorks - better price than tinternet and they...
Had my SQ5 now for nearly 2 years from new and (fingers crossed) this has never happened to me. I would go straight back to the supplying dealer and get them to investigate under warranty. Alternatively if you know a good independent with VCDS they should be able to interrogate the system for...
I'm sure somewhere on this forum is a list of members with vcds by location. Pm Sandra ( moderator and all round good egg) one of the site Administrators and she will point you in the right direction. Had ADS enabled on mine and love the sound in Dynamic mode. Easy job to do too so shouldn't...
Yep up for a dealer meet. I'm in East Yorkshire but happy to travel. Went to Harrogate Audi at the weekend but it is still work in progress there so anywhere else in the region is fine.
Not many Q5 and SQ5 owners on this forum so you might be better off joining the myaudiq5.com forum to receive more feedback on your problem. Hope you manage to get it resolved - they are a lovely car.
