I picked up the alloy insurance with the car, but after a year the insurance company wrote to me to tell me they'd decided they wouldn't be able to repair those wheels if I claimed so they were cancelling it and I got a full refund.
Tried a couple of options including Footman James's "Flex" option to add the Audi to my classic insurance (5k!) and Keith Michaels who said I'd be unlikely to see a better quote than the one from Audi by a long way, so I went with that in the end.
Got my renewal through from Audi Insurance (they were the cheapest when I got the car - unfortunately I had another car vandalised outside my house two months before the RS3 was delivered which really screwed my quotes up; luckily this is the last year it needs declaring) and it's nearly doubled...
Had the camera looked at yesterday by the dealership. They tried recalibrating it but concluded the unit was defective so replaced it. (Just in case someone else has a similar issue in the future.)
My reversing camera has lost focus. It's now focussed at (I assume) its shortest distance, as everything is blurry apart from anything which is on the camera housing (like water droplets are perfectly in focus!). I can't see any contamination on or in the housing, plus the fact that stuff right...
I used it and then made it my actual insurance. Haven't had to claim on it fortunately, but renewed a couple of months ago and it went down slightly. They were very competitive when I got the car which is mostly why I went with them - quite a few insurers including sponsors on here gave me...
Do the cars update system (for want of a better term) software OTA or just maps?
My wife's new Polo GTI seems to update everything OTA, but I've only ever seen the RS3 tell me it was updating maps.
Yeah I've had it once or twice, happy to write it off as systems starting up and communicating though... as long as it gets going within a second or two I'm not too worried. The warning triangle appears as one of the "lights" which "self-tests" when it starts up I think? I assume the...
Saw one at a farm shop in Somerset the other weekend, a grey (no idea which grey ;) ) sportback with a 72 plate. Managed to parking-buddy with it and chatted to the owner briefly :)
One downside of the Scandinavian DRLs (as done by OBD11) seems to be that now I have the "side lights" icon in the dash display all the time. Makes sense that it's the car telling me I have my lights on to comply with my local "Scandinavian" laws I guess, but a bit annoying :)
Might take it...
Ah interesting, I had this not long ago. App said the car was unlocked with all the windows and sunroof open, which was a concern as it isn't parked near my house so I had to go over to it and double-check! It was fine, chalked it up to a software issue which looks to be the case.
