I had a failed coolant shut off valve on mine that was stopping the flow to the heater matrix. Was easy enough to replace. Part was £60 ish from TPS iirc.
Spent a few “working from home” hours freshening up the rear brakes. Had already done the fronts a few months ago.
Before and after,
Made a huge difference.
I removed mine when I had heater issues. Plenty of that same black silt was in my matrix when I flushed it out. The bag is only there to prolong the life of the antifreeze.
I had the same issue. It was the coolant valve that had stopped working. It was corroded inside and wasn’t fully opening to allow flow to the electric coolant pump and then onto the matrix. It didn’t show a fault code. It’s now proper hot.
Mine after a clean yesterday. Was previously own by another member on this forum. Got to be one of the best cars I have owned. Lotus grey is an amazing colour.
Hi there all.
Had a few Audi’s over the years including a C5 S6 Avant, B6 2.5 TDi Quattro Avant and my current A3 8V 1.8 TFSI S Line saloon. Even got my Mum in a A1 and sister in A3 8P. Trying to convince the girlfriend next.
Looking forward to lots of useful info from you all.
Mike
