Looks more like a spring has snapped rather than shock absorber. A shock absorber doesn't hold the weight of the car when stationary but the spring does.

@JohnnieWalker thanks very much for putting this up. Was very useful. I have the same MMI as you and I'm thinking of putting one of those Carplay/ android auto boxes in and it needs an AMI or Aux. I'm guessing if i enable aux in the green menu then I'm good.

Mine are currently 9x20 et35 and they only just touch on the extremes on the rear. Before that i had 9x20 et42 and that cleared fine. On that basis with your wheels only being 7.5 wide on et36 I highly doubt you'll have a problem.

Look for some genuine 19s on Facebook market place and Ebay. Then you'll have the option to run chunkier tyres. After upgrading to 20s though i don't think i could go back down to 19s personally lol
