As far as untraceable goes, I'm not to sure on this. VCDS has a function to indicate the number of flashes, date of last flash, and a programmer code. However, it could be said that the reflash was an audi update during a service?

Yes, it is annoying! I think the manual says a double press one after the other. The other option is to get someone in your area with VCDS (Vag-Com) to recode the central convenience module so that they all open on a single press, very easy.

Yep, it's just a vacuum pipe connected to a diaphragm. A spring holds the valve shut, then the vacuum opens the valve.
