I am looking at a relatively high-mileage RS4 and am trying to work out what it needs, including whether it needs new discs/pads. I asked the selling Audi dealer whether it did and got the following info in reply:
Front Brakes:
- Off Side Disc 34mm (limit 32mm)
- Off Side Pads 14mm...
It does us ok! Could be quicker - VMax is only 22 knots as it has only 1000bhp or so from two big straight-six turbodiesels but it makes up for it with being a bit more stylish than yer average plastic fantastic Sunseeker-type thingy.
Yes, Dad's boat is the one with the wooden stern that the car is parked directly in front of. This is a better pic. It's a one-off my father had built utilising a hull designed for a Navy patrol boat. She's about 70ft LOA but manages to look considerably smaller.
If you mean my father, then no, he's generally doing ok in life.
It was the first RS4 Avant delivered in Italy and I think there are still almost none around - Italians go nuts for fast Audi estates so you can imagine it gets lots of attention.

My father went for the Deep Green and I reckon it's really rather nice. It's very dark and pretty much the sort of colour Lotus Carltons used to be.
Very subtle and classy in my view.

I'm not sure how we solved it, but we did.
We left the car overnight and tried again in the morning, and hey presto, the car happily linked to any mobile we cared to point at it.
All a bit weird given how many times we'd tried the day before.

My father has a new RS4 Avant (B7) and had successfully linked his Samsung mobile into the factory-fit Sat Nav/MMI system via Bluetooth. However he just got a new mobile, also a Samsung, which is refusing point-blank to "find" the car by bluetooth link. My Motorola V3i is also refusing...
