Sold ABT Tuning Box for Audi B9 S5 (Piggyback ECU)

I removed this from the car as I've switched to a remap instead. I can't link the data sheet here, but if you search for ABT POWER S5 B9 ECU you'll find details. I've also attached a screengrab of the datasheet. You can see the redacted photo of the original purchase... yes, it was over £2400...

    Edition 30 thoughts

I had an 8l and now have an 8p. We also have a mkv GTi so I drive both over the course of a week. The golf is great, no doubt. However traction just isn't there once the road is less than perfect. It's not bad as such, but it's easy to light up the fronts in 2nd if you aren't careful on the...

What is the worst mod you have ever seen

Saw this in London a month back.....

    Bad Day :(

I'm guessing the ESP was on. Although I love to turn it off sometimes for some fun (traction off at least) I honestly believe that it can really work some magic when the wheels are on different surfaces and the car is risking getting seriously out of shape. Either way ESP on/off it still...

    R Tech tomorrow

Ok folks. Reporting back after 2 weeks. That's 400 miles return from London and 1.5 weeks of commuting etc. Obviously the car is quicker. With the linear map and progressive power it's as I wanted. Not much difference until it's past 3K, but no sudden rush, just controllable power. Was fun...

    R Tech tomorrow

What a day. First off thanks to Nick, Ben and Marcus for being so helpful. Great bunch of guys. Secondly a warning to anyone who uses bluefin... I was told back to standard was exactly that. Turns out it's messed with to make it harder to remap elsewhere. Nick was great and took the extra...

    R Tech tomorrow

No, not common. The guys at superchips were great and tried to resolve the issues and in the end I got it reset and sold it on. This is no slight on bluefin, but with my car it didn't play nice. It's a 2009 59 car. I waited and ran the car for several months standard to confirm gearbox was good...

    R Tech tomorrow

Looking forward to seeing what Niki can do with the S3. I had bluefin on earlier in the year. It was good, but I think the stronic torque fooling was starting to cause it confusion. It just wasn't right. Back to standard and fine. I'm hopeful that both an engine and gearbox remap will do the...

    BG44K fuel additive

Another vote for it here. Made a noticeable difference on 2 out of 3 cars I tried.

    poor MPG on 06 S3

Mine normally hunts about 28. On gentle runs I've seen 35+. Of course, use it properly and that drops fast. Sounds like something is wrong. That's 99 only.

    S3 Precat

What was the after dyno result? I'm assuming stage1 remap here. Also, any economy difference?

    S3 Precat

Ah, that may explain it. Thanks!!

    S3 Precat

Yep, but has anyone actually done it on here :-)

    S3 Precat

There are very few threads on precat removal for an S3. Most mention change of downpipe, but that's a very visible change. Has anyone actually done this? Any noise, MPG or performance difference. It seems like a nice cheap mod, especially reducing EGTs. Any downsides to this, anyone actually...

Am I the only person on the planet who’d like their S3 to have softer suspension?

I've been thinking about this as well. I definitely don't want to lower the car and from what I've read the FSD dampers would appear to be a solution. If anyone near Glasgow has them I'd be interested in having a look. Having had a 111r Elise I know what you mean.

    Engine coding failing

Cheers. It's McLaren F1 engine. I defected to BMW for a while and had an e46 M3. Apparently the F1 is 2x those engines as basis.
