Just an update on this. When I arrived at the dealer, they had ordered the part ready to fit. It was the parking lock actuator microswitch that needed replacing.

I have it booked in for Thursday so I'm hoping it's a quick fix and soon back with me I will update this thread with the outcome so that it might help other owners if they get the same issue
