So just a datapoint to anyone who may find it helpful, I sold my MY2015 1.6 TDi last week after replacing it with another vehicle (not an Audi) It had done 79000 miles and the cam belt was never changed. I decided to follow the parent company and leave the belt as I am sure that Audi UK are out...

55-60mpg. Over the last 37,000 miles it has averaged over 56mpg.
I am the second owner of this vehicle. It's been beautifully looked after, regularly serviced and is trouble-free.
There is one scratch and that has been...
Decided to finally part with my MY2015 1.6 diesel cab. Was disappointed that Audi stopped building the soft top and the A5 is far more than I want to pay. Wanted to stay with a convertible so I ended up taking delivery this week of a new MX-5. Heck of a change that's for sure! I miss the...
You may find this interesting - a previously posted conversation between me and Audi UK, after contacting Audi DE.

I posted some time ago about the massive difference between what Audi UK say and the rest of the Audi network say regarding the changing of the cambelt. I posted the text of the conversation I had with Audi Germany who said that they still maintain that the belt be changed at around 130,000...
How weird - I did almost exactly the same thing a week ago, but to the offside front. My local garage (who also do my MOTs) said it was fine and would pass MOT - and they are very strict on everything.
So, back in Oct 2019 I posted the following on this forum. Might add a bit more to the conversation:
So, I have been emailing back and forth to Audi UK to see what they have to say about the whole issue. Below is the thread - it's quite clear they are still trying to justify this change of...
I assume you read my long posts earlier about my to and fro with Audi Germany. Did you happen to know whether the belt showed any signs of obvious wear? I'm wondering just how likely it is that the parent company recommendations are still valid, given the similarities between UK and German...
I refrained from posting this for a while as I thought I must be going mad. My 64reg Cabriolet (not an S-Line) happily illuminates the instruments at all times, lights on or off. However when the ext lights are off, the instrumentation goes dark when the car goes into a tunnel or under trees...
There's no grooving and the car still stops perfectly. I mostly do motorway driving so over 30 - 40K miles I'll use them brakes far less than a city driver and I rend to be very easy on them anyway.
Thanks guys - just wanted to have some armoury in case the garage tries to fail the vehicle on...
Just wondering if anyone knows how thin the pads have to be before the light comes on. I'm having mine MOT'd tomorrow and they are getting low-ish, hard to tell exactly, but no warning. I just don't want to be told to replace them if they are still within the legal limits.
Noticed a strip hanging from the bottom of my 8V Cab today. There's a plastic screw that has fallen out (surviving one in the picture) - probably worked its way loose. Does anyone know where I can get one of these or have some sort of part number?
