Just realised that I never posted the solution in the thread. The reason my pedal was sinking was nothing to do with the hydraulics at all. Turned out I had front rotor delamination and by applying max brake pressure, I was actually compacting the laminations of steel. The rotors from the...
I've been using a pressure kit very similar to the gunson one from eurocarparts. I only manage to get the pressure to about 10psi before the screw on reservoir cap starts leaking. The reservoir cap is a poor fit to be honest. Hopefully the gunson one will be better quality. Let us know how you...
If you have seen any of my recent posts you'll know I recently changed 2 rear callipers and flexi hoses as I had one seize on me. Ever since I did this job I noticed that If I am stationary, and push my brake pedal hard as I can, and hold it down under constant pressure (with engine running, so...
The old lock (original) has the part number JA6 - 4F2837016B
This is the ebay listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Right-Driver-Door-Lock-Actuator-Mechanism-For-AUDI-A3-8P-A6-C6-A8/383218256981
I think you may have hit the nail on the head - the ebay listing has oem part number: 4F2 837 016...
Don't see any posts matching these exact symptoms so here goes - I fitted a new drivers door lock mechanism to my 2007 allroad - but now when using the key (the actual key slotted in the key hole, and not the wireless keyfob function), no matter which way I turn the key (CW or CCW) the doors...
Guys, I'm really struggling with this and getting really desperate for some help. As I previously reported, in VCDS under the ABS Brake controller there is no option inside "Basic Settings - 03" for bleeding the ABS - I have only two options shown in the drop-down - one for steering sensor...
Since posting the above I found an article that suggested the correct group for ABS bleeding in vCDS is 002, and not 001 (which is only for Golf etc) So I just tried with the 002 group and again got the error "Error Group 002 Not Available". Anyone got experience doing this with VCDS on a C6? My...
I took the car for a run. It actually feels fine whilst driving, but that's because you don't generally drive with the foot hard planted on the brake checking for it to sink. It makes me wonder if the brake might have been like this prior to my calliper issue, and that the issue here might be...
I was using the pressure bleeder kit from eurocarparts - its almost exactly the same as the Gunson Eezibleed - which is not a vacuum bleeder BTW - its a pressure bleeder which pressurises the fluid into the master cylinder reservior. The very first bleed I did was with the callipers not attached...
Just fitted new rear callipers and flexi hoses on my allroad 2007 3.0. I have bled the entire system and no air coming out at all now, but when I push the pedal with the engine running (so brake servo assisting) the pedal is not solid. It appears solid at first but slowly sinks under consistent...
Turned out to be the pump. The wheel arch liner had filled with mud/dirt and the washer bottle and pump was encased in it. The pump motor brushes had fallen apart. New pump fitted and good as new!
I should add, that I unscrewed my old hose fitting from my old calliper to check that - the threaded hole in the old calliper has the same concave mating surface as my new calliper, but I noticed that the hose fitting on the old hose was not perfect either. Sure it has a slightly convex surface...
I picked up two rear brake hoses from eurocarparts (ECP), entering my reg plate as instructed, and there was only one choice for rear brake hose - so I thought, it has to be the right one right? Wrong! I also picked up two new rear callipers from a different supplier, and noticed that the...
I already took the current ones apart - hence the reason I am asking. Also, who's to say that they weren't wrongly installed in the first place?
Is there anyone who actually knows the answer?
Sorry, I didn't realise there is a parts database linked on the forum here. I managed to find the part number for the clips and find them on amazon prime, so on their way already. This site is a really good resource. Thanks
Anyone know what clip is required for attaching the top of the hose to the hole in the body? Surprised to find the new hoses didn't come with the clip :(
Cheers, Paul
