Hi Ralph, as it happened let my mechanic take my car today, he connected the vcds machine and found the pressure was OK, he said it's my turbo or actuator that's at fault and that when he tried put his foot down can hear a noise but no turbo kicking in maybe a shade in second but other than that...
Thank you ever so much for your input. I have heard this on various threads about MAF failing, that's excellent news if it can be eliminated by simply disconnecting, I shall see if the mechanic can do this tomorrow, will report back, hopefully it solves the mystery, thanks again.
Right, I'll try and source a egr delete kit and see if the mechanic can install this, thanks for all your expertise on this matter appreciate it highly!.
Thank you for the invaluable knowledge, right I'll get it properly scanned (vcds), and then report back. It's a shame car runs ever so well bar the turbo issue, never looses any oil, starts on the button, no smoke on statt up, previous owner 6 months previous was a elderly gentleman he only done...
Hi, thank you ever so much for the reply. I shall pass this information on to the mechanic hopefully he doesn't have my pants down with parts and labour . No only thing I have access to is a obd and it's never had a warning light, car drives like new, never puffed out any smoke, it's just really...
Hi, ever since i have purchased my audi a4 b6 its very lazy, absolute breathless and sluggish below 2.5k and onwards and very hard to get up to speed without really working the car. If i plant my foot in pretty much any gear it takes an age before boost if I'm lucky as if the turbo is asleep...
Hi all, back once again for your expert opinions. My Audi 1.9 tdi 130 bhp saloon y reg feels ever so sluggish first gear is extremely bad, I have had 130 pd engines in the past and they have been ever so responsive. However with this it feels as though its running half of its power.once it's...
I see, I wonder why audi say use oem fluid only, mines quite the opposite extremely stiff and reluctant to engage in 1st and second gear, highly annoying to say the least, hopefully the fluid change sorts it out. What sort of labour cost am I looking at big job or fairly simple?.
Just to confirm is your vehicle an audi a4 b6 5 speed 130 tdi too?, that's great does the gearbox feel nice and crisp with this fluid?, if yes I will go ahead and order 3 litres of ebay.
Thank you for the swift response. would you recommend the 75w 80 fuchs titan?, as audi have quoted a staggering price of £35 per litre!! And will need 3 litres I believe.
Hi all, I need your expert opinions please. since I have owned my audi a4 b6 1.9 tdi 130 2001 5 speed, I have noticed that when the car Is cold the gears are extremely stiff and take some effort to change especially second gear. First thing that sprang to mind was to get the gearbox oil changed...
yes that does make sense. its a shame i was quick to drill holes in the new plates wont look the best now. That would be great if there is a way to reverse drill them out?< without damaging anything?.
Hi, thanks for the reply, there is no head on both as they snapped off. I regret making holes in the new number plate now as they will look odd, i was thinking there must be a way to pull the broken screws out.
Hi, thanks for the swift reply, i have already drilled the holes in the new number plates unfortunately so will look a bit odd if just left. I did think to do that intitially however a few opinions from people about thieves targeting plates without screws is common put me off. Is there a easy...
Hi all. I decided to update my number plates as old ones were in really bad condition. I managed to unscrew the front number plate off, however the rear number plate screw/bolts were in really bad condition and just wouldnt budge, so i decided to try and pluck them out i managed to do that and...
Hi Mike, it’s really bizarre as I have done almost 1000 miles and it’s not used any oil whatsoever. Yes that would be ideal however don’t have his number anymore. I guess I’ll just keep driving it.. I noticed a warning sign pop up some days ago didn’t really take any notice however it seems as...
I’ll attach some images for you to see Mike he did mention it but I can’t recall what exact area it was. Absolutely it is a very clean car, however is now a 17+ year old car so like you said it’s not justified spending so much money on, but I must say it sounds so so sweet even on a cold start...
Hi all, thanks ever so much for the expert advice, I can confirm that thermostat was fitted yesterday and car now sits at 90 degrees bang on after 8 minutes of dual carriageway driving regardless of heater being on or off. However mechanic discovered further leaks one of the hoses I believe. He...
