Managed to sort it. The connector that I thought had the power and earth was actually for the Parrot the car had installed haha. Removed all that and it's much better. Just need to somehow improve the radio signal strength it's awful.

Has anyone got experience with the above? Had mine delivered today, no manual and supposed to be plug and play..... Has anyone got a wiring diagram of the Audi Stereo connectors, I feel I'm going to have to cut some wires and rejoin without using the harness provided.
