Same as mine. Man these engines are like ticking time bombs. Every time I start her up it's like russian roulette! Mine's only got 46k but I read online the tensioner can go at anytime. Lucky yours didn't wreck the engine. How much was it?
Will fit no probs and not look ridiculous at all. I run same size. But depending on how low you are and tyre size etc, you may get some rubbing. I occasionally do with a car full of people. Tbh though I wish I'd gone for 8.5J or even 9
Stage 1 you're prob looking at gains of around +50bhp and + 70Nm. Although APR and Revo advertise more than this. From what I've read online the 160ps 1.8 tfsi actually dynos around 175-180bhp just stock. All sorts of factors to consider though with that. And the 1.8 shares the same internals as...
As I said in reply to your other post cam tensioner is a big issue on these engines. But the car you're looking at has had it replaced and updated to latest revision (with a very expensive repair for previous owner!). Don't think you need to worry about it as it's been sorted.
Apart from the water pump mine has been running great, no codes. Obviously you're always going to hear more bad stories online than from people who haven't had any issues at all. Any car can have problems. If it's been well looked after and has a full Audi service history then def worth...
Guess the engine code is probably CABB or CABD. Will say in the log book on the options sticker or in the boot where the spare is.
Tensioner was never recalled. If it has been replaced then it will say in the service history. Not saying it happens to every engine but there's a lot of horror...
I have a 1.8 TFSI BZB so gen1 ea888 engine. If you're looking at 2009 models then guess they'll be gen2 and engine code will start with a C.
Common problems are water pump failure. Mine failed at around 30k. But prob biggest issue facing the early ea888 engines is cam tensioner failure. The...
Finally dropped the old girl on coilovers before the hols. Height adjustable Vogtlands. Surprised just how comfortable they are. Also went from 17" 7.5j et45 5spokes to the classic RS4s 18 8j et43. And a 4 wheel alignment after letting them settle a few days.
Is your car lowered or on factory suspension? If it isn't lowered it might look like a monster truck. Sport and S-Line A3 have 7.5x18 ET56 as standard.
If it is lowered then people seem to say 8x18 with a ET45-43 is the sweet spot although people do run much bigger and wider rims with lots of...
Was just about to post exactly the same question. Do the top mounts need to be changed both front and rear? And is changing the drop links a must? Bump stops too?
Good to know, thanks.
Although my A3 is an "s-line" I think they sold it just as an exterior package here with 17" wheels. From the look of the arch gap it looks more like SE or possibly Sport height. Pic above you posted looks a reasonable drop for what I'm after. Although I think I liked the...
Thanks for the info. That's good to know as I was thinking I'd need to get the pads as well. Do you think the springs will drop a bit more once they settle? The pro-kit drops just a tad lower than s-Line height?
It's very confusing especially for people attenpting this for the first time. I...
Looks really nice. Is that with Bilstein B4 shocks and TT rear pads? I eventually managed to work out the correct pro kit springs I need and this setup your running is it exactly what I'm looking at going for.
Yeah I checked that one too but it's blank as well. Have no idea why Audi Japan didn't add the info! Driving me nuts as I really can't find a definite answer online. Demon Tweeks didn't know either as I was planning to order through them.
Is the weight difference not based on whether it's DSG...
Wondering if anyone can help. I'm looking to upgrade to Eibach Pro kit with Bilstein B4. Can't seem to find a definite answer on which Front axle load I should go for though and my drivers door sticker doesn't state any weight.
Eibach Pro have two options - up to 1065kg or up to 1155kg. I have a...
