Autocar are reviewing the new A3 2.0TDI in this weeks edition. They are not exactly blown away by the car ! The new 148bhp diesel is very clattery apparently. They rank it in 3rd place, behind the Mk.6 Golf in 1st place, and the Focus in 2nd.

It gets worse. Lots of horror stories have appeared about Audi's electric parking brake in the A4/6/8 and now the new A3. People have burnt out their clutches trying to stop the car rolling back on steep slopes where the parking brake doesn't work properly. They are losing the plot big time.

It seems there is no option to have a 6 CD multi-changer in the new A3. It just comes with a nasty little single CD box which is inside the glove compartment, and so is neither practical nor safe to use whilst driving. I think the interior of the new A3 is very poorly thought out. Seriously...

Just washed the car, and after using a squeegee to get most of the water off the roof, I discovered it has made lots of very fine scratches along the length of the roof. Arrrggggh !!! What sort of polish or other stuff is best to remove these ?
