Mine are LED Xenon's (non matrix however). Think all new S3s come with Xenon's. That's interesting so it could be the bulb for the high beam that's bad also. Just adds to the mix of possibilities great!

Thanks buddy. I will ask my dealer to have a look at the contacts today. Am I correct in assuming there are no seperate bulbs for the high beams? On previous cars it was just a separator that opens/closes.

I would say if you can still drive it may be ok. When mine went it would not budge. Could not select gears nothing in fact the gear selector was stuck completely. Could even try a DSG reset if you have obdeleven. A lot of the problems with the dq381 seem to be related or caused by the software

Car did not exhibit any of the symptoms referred to yesterday on my drive this morning. Very strange behaviour indeed. Booked in for a DSG Tune tomorrow morning so will update you all whether that will provide the fix. I am confident it will do.
