I have similar concerns to you and after quite a lot of research I'm going to go for DTUK box - it doesnt raise an ecu flag like a remap would and the amount of power delivered can be adjusted (to hopefully protect the clutch). They also seem to have quite a good offer on at the moment (£80 off...

The forge one is mean to be a very good fit from what i've heard, as well as looking OEM at a glance due to it being black iirc.

Are there any decent lower power increase options - 30-40BHP as I can't be bothered to have to replace the clutch at some point? Ideally one that can be removed and won't flag if I have a service etc

I doubt you would see any significant issues (and it would still be under warranty anyway), but you may just use a bit more oil and make slightly less BHP.

That said as it's a a lease car I wouldn't be so concerned about mechanical sympathy.

Im running mine in below 4000rpm (with varying engine loads) for the first 1000miles and then doing and oil and filter change. Done this with a number of BMW's and they never used a drop of oil (which they are infamous for).

That's contrary to advice from all car manufacturers and most dont bed in in the factory either. Hammering it from day one doesnt help bed the pistons in, in fact it can cause hot spots and damage to the cylinder lining. The advice to keep it below 4000 rpm is for the first 1000 miles so that...
