I've not driven the 1.8 petrol but have driven the 184 diesel and find that the 190 petrol has far better acceleration from stand still up to 60mph and then the diesel feels just as potent from then on.

Hi Dave R, How far do you have to travel for that test drive? I've driven both cars and there is a small difference in how the power is delivered but I found the smoother quieter quicker off the mark more to my liking.

I had the rattle on the seat belt, all I did was drop down one notch on the adjuster and it went away. That was on my last A3 SB Sport. The new car is fine no issues at all concerning rattles.

I don't think the windscreen repair guy's can do anything under 3 - 4mm, I changed my windscreen in the past for all the hundreds of tiny chips, it was a safety issue when raining and driving into a low sun.

Great result F1nny, I may get my dealer to look at mine if and when it goes in for something but it wasn't as bad as yours. Did they say what they did, I guess it was adjustment to the door.

Not done much mileage yet as I've been on holiday but only done a few short trips up to 12 miles and the computer says 35.6mpg, I'll take this with a pinch of salt. Next week I'll be back at work and 350 miles under the belt so will have a better idea then.

My passenger side looks fine it's just the drivers door as you all say, I'm not sure whether the wings are bolted on and there could be some adjustment but you wouldn't want to alter the door to much as it could interfere with something else that's fixed.

From the first few miles I also thought it was like a refined diesel power delivery. What tyres have you got? I'm running on Bridgestones and find the ride very supple but the handling still engaging.
