    Mystery Box

Any ideas on where I might find it? Ive had the car for 2 years, and didn't even know it had a tracker, with the cost of licensing on the usual units, or transfer etc. too, I cant imagine I would want to keep it, so im happy removing it....if I can access it!

    Mystery Box

Any ideas on how best to disconnect it, or remove it. I cant see where the tracker would be mounted (which of course is the idea ;) ) but I don't really want to unnecessarily keep it there, and have it rattling around behind my glove box!

    Mystery Box

I was replacing my cabin filter and upon removing the soft cover beneath it, this box fell down. Not sure what it is, thought perhaps tracking, but it seems to run cabling (which is very tight) behind the RNSE and display, but I cannot see where it connects too or what it is doing. I would...

    Remap Advice

Thanks for all the responses it's much as I had expected but could see some arguments either way. Its also been notable that the chaps offering rolling road seem to have a much better steer on how the individual elements affect the output, rather than a bulk "20%" increase from the map etc...

    Remap Advice

Looking at getting my s3 remapped and have been looking at a few different companies, the one thing that appears to be unclear, is whether a rolling road / dyno is worth having? I have read mixed things but it appears to be biased based on what setup they have, revo say it's pub figures and...

Fans Running after Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

It was a reasonable point, but it was definitely kicking out beyond the ac noise. Looks like it's all sorted itself out now, the EML has gone off, temperature is reading fine and the fans work like usual. Thanks for all of your input and help!

Fans Running after Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Don't need air con on in this weather! The fans have stopped overrunning now I have the replacement sensor in, but when they were running it was very audible, a lot more than the normal AC noise. Just have the EML on the dash, but will connect it tonight and see.

Fans Running after Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Also for anyone planning on changing this sensor, one thing I didn't read anywhere that would help, is that when you remove the old sensor the rubber o-ring will stay in place, you need to fish it out before you place the new sensor (with o-ring in place)! sounds obvious, but I hadn't noticed if...

Fans Running after Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Yes it is OEM, although I took it for a short drive and the temp sensor didn't move, got a replacement today and its reading ok. Although the engine management light is on the dash! Will get it on VCDS and take a look. thanks for the replies!

Fans Running after Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Hi All, I have just replaced my engine coolant temperature sensor (the one on the right hand side) of my Audi 8P S3. A fair amount of coolant poured out in between the old being removed and the new going on, and I topped it up with the amount I thought would have been lost. I started the car...

Some people apply Anusol with a damp cloth, apparently this penetrates better.

    8PA S3 Headlight Options

I have an '07 s3 8p (pre-facelift) and would like to upgrade the headlights, (cosmetic mostly, but don't want to lose too much visibility). What are the options for upgrading, I would love the facelift 'eyebrow' DRL's but I'm aware that the whole bumper and front end need modifying/replacing to...

    MPG Issues

I would do those things anyway but I wouldn't expect a huge improvement, my commute is 15 miles of motorway with a short section of junctions either end, I average around 27 mpg with it stuck at 70 with cruise control on, and usually even less on the way back (more inclines).

    S3 2007 Black Grill

I had thought the same, but ive read quite a few people have used plastidip, which resists stone chips as its a rubberised paint. And it just peels off so you don't need to remove the bumper etc. if you search the forum there's some good guide.

    S3 2007 Black Grill

Not sure if you've considered it, but its much easier to spray your existing one if you are just looking for the black version, to fit the new grill you would have to remove the bumper and getting the grills out can be a pain also! I looked into the same thing, and its quite costly.

Cleaning tips for Audi Rings, Exhaust Tips and roof rails.

I use a microfiber for the exhausts and a brush similar to the valet pro for the badges and rings. I assume, that your old man doesn't like your choice of car ;)

I'd second the Meguiars, removes all exhaust deposits without tarnishing it at all.

Cruise control not working in sixth gear

I may be able to get access to it, what is likely to be wrong and how would I repair it if it is component failure?
