I'm in no means an expert with these engines but I think tuffty had a problem like this when he missed shifted and overreved. I'm pretty sure his timing looked ok but he had actually damaged the crank sprocket (I think) As I said I've only just got into the Vag scene but just something to check...

what else would be required for this conversion?, FMIC, wmi, injectors, exhaust manifold, bigger exhaust system, guessing an uprated clutch also, im trying to decide whether to keep my s3 or maybe get a subaru/evo, but the way the prices are lately id rather stick with the s3.
