Hey guys, the OP is my wife and she managed to get sorted, she found a really good locksmith (based in Stoke) but for £80 he drove up to Leyland, picked the door lock (in less than a minute) and used the pick to cut a new key blade in the back of his van (boot lock was too stiff to pick) and...
I guess it depends what you're getting at the minute too, for example the Mrs averages 42mpg out of her 3.0tdi cabrio and that's with no motorway driving, a mix of town and dual carriageways. I'm sure I'd get a lot less if I was driving it more, I'd guess high 30's tops. So comparatively we...
I tried menzerna (400 I think) but didn't get on with it, maybe it's better on a rotary... For ease of use and speed of results on a DA though (in my opinion) the 105 in unbeatable. I used that with the yellow heavy cut pad, 205 with the orange medium heavy, then the slight cut blue, #7 fast...
They should look spot on (better than new) if done properly, like you say they ain't the best from the factory and you'll get them looking better than that easily :)

I'll be doing the following on the cab as one of them has dropped out causing them all to fail...
Basically the same as painting any small part:
Slight key with very fine wet and dry (I have some 2000 grit for paint correction)
2 light coats of primer, no need for plastic primer IMO as...
Quick once over with the Cali duster and a rinse of the wheels and the Mrs is off for lunch with her friends, she LOVES it! Apparently it's a bit quicker than her 1.6 bug though (can't imagine why being a 3.0 TDI) hehe
I'm pretty new round here (not to VAG, but new to Audi)
Last weekend I was in Wales buying our first Audi, a nice B7 Cab (3.0tdi Quattro S-Line in Misano red) for the Mrs to replace her 2004 Bug...
This weekend I've been prepping it so it's ready for some spring motoring!
It's getting a full...
