Can anyone please tell me how to remove the Door mirror caps on a B5 facelift? I guess its quite simple and could probably work it out but really dont wont to break anything in the process of finding out! Any ideas? Thanks.

I think the front one is clipped on and are usually knackered once you try to remove them easier to by a new one they arnt much, Halfords do some nice acrylic paint if its satin you want them warm the badge slightly first it makes the thinners evaporate quicker giving a more uniform satiness

Or you can "saw" the badge off with a piece of thin string then soften and remove any tape residue with white spirit . Flat the chrome with 800 grade wet n dry paper or steel wool then etch prime and paint..

Hi got a milltek on mine and it sounds awesome but not very loud would recommend one or you can have my old system for nout if you want, not rotten, off 47k 2000 car but the middle hanger bracket has snapped not that it mattered! Let me know i was just about to chop it up...

Hi ya, not sure but may be the same fitting as the 2.8, i bought one for mine a k&n, fitted it and made no difference whatsoever just a silly noise that didnt suit the type of car,since heard that the airboxes are not restrictive anyway,i also fitted a milltek exhaust but hasnt done much for it...

Hi, having just had my seals replaced it seemed pretty straightforward but dont know if i would tackle it myself,it only cost me £60 labour and took an hour and a half to do at an independent audi specialist.. The seals were £8.51 ea plus vat. Hope this may help.

My 2.8 also is very doggy in the low revs but once its away it pulls like a train,feels very longlegged and i dont think you realise just how quick they are because they are so smooth and quiet.
