Unless you have air suspension, there is no difference in suspension betweeen the different modes - the dampers are not adaptive.

What colour A6 Avant would you avoid?

Think red is fairly rare - most people dare not stray from the safe options of grey, silver, black - so depends if you care about resale. Personally I think red and blue and Daytona grey are very nice colours on the A6.

    Mapping Bitdi History

Had the remap done today, and apparently mine was representative in that it had more BHP and quite a lot more torque than claimed: 320.8 bhp and 717 NM. After remap this was 369 bhp and 816 NM. A very noticeable difference in behaviour, with an immense pull in the lower gears. Right now very...

    Mapping Bitdi History

The normal price is 790 euro but they give 20 % discount to members of a French Audi forum, so 630 euro all in, with 2 dyno runs and 5 years "warranty" (they will FOC re-write the map if the dealer deletes it, or remove it if you sell the car). The actual dyno plot shows 350 bhp and 790 nm...

    From A6 BiTDI to S6

Just to conclude this thread: Didn't go for the S6 in the end, even if I test drove it twice. The exhaust was very muffled and only when pushing the engine did the V8 come through. Clearly a faster car (especially as Audi apparently underreports the real BHP that most dynos put at 480 bhp rather...

    Mapping Bitdi History

I am having mine remapped Friday at a Belgian outfit, Shiftec, who promises 360 bhp and 750 nm. This is with rolling road and maybe towards the conservative end of the performance increase, though 50+ bhp and 100+ nm should still be noticeable. I am going for longevity, so not particularly...

Is it possible to swap the RS6 radar domes for fog lights?

The A6 "fog lights" are integrated in the headlights, so I don't really see this as an option.

    From A6 BiTDI to S6

Having had an E39 and E60 M5 and E92 M3, I am unfortunately keenly aware of thirsty V8 (and V10) engines, which apart from the E39 M5 that I kept for 5 years, I grew tired off after less than a year - I can accept the thirst but not lack of range. For me a minimum of 550 km on a tank with fast...

    2018 Audi S6 -

    I was referring to the OP, who stated: Current S6 3.0 litre V6 Engine Power - BHP450 0 to 62 mph (secs)4.6 Engine Torque - LBS.FT406 Current RS6 4.0 litre V6 Engine Power - BHP560 0 to 62 mph (secs)3.9 Engine Torque - LBS.FT516

    From A6 BiTDI to S6

Thanks for the clarification! I use mine exclusively for long distance motorway driving, in France and Germany. A BiTDI is rationally ideal for this but I have come to consider it more of a tool to get from A to B, and was hoping for a bit more character with the S6. Maybe a mismatch then?

    From A6 BiTDI to S6

Trying to make an informed decision so test drove the S6 today. First impression is that it looks fantastic on its 20" wheels, black on black and with the quilted look S Sport seats. Driving experience was a little mixed: obviously fast though the midrange of the BiTDI is stronger but also a...

    2018 Audi S6 -

    Obviously a typo, but the current S6/RS6 are 4.0 V8 not 3/4 litre V6

    From A6 BiTDI to S6

Just spoke to JD Engineering: Stage 1 does not include a rolling road, which I find quite strange. That means the remap (stage 1, at least) is generic.

Not wanting to take this OT but has anyone had a stage 1 with JD? Am I correct that stage 1 is remap without rolling road, and stage 2 is remap + rolling road?

    From A6 BiTDI to S6

Thanks for the replies! No doubt a remap would be the cheapest and make most sense - road tax for a 4 litre is 2000 euro, for a a 3 litre 700 euro, in Belgium + a registration tax of 3500 euro, so easily 13000 euro to swap for a S6 with 30.000 km more. Also a nagging feeling about the S Tronic...

    From A6 BiTDI to S6

Considering swapping my '14 A6 BiTDI with 44.000 km for a '14 S6 with 72.000 km... Probably will cost 10.000 euro in exchange, but the S6 is fully loaded and maybe a more exciting car, even if more expensive ownership prospect. Anyone that has done this swap, either way, and is the S6 a...

    RS6 Steering wheel Retrofit

I installed a new flat bottom steering wheel on mine (smooth leather, so possibly not an RS6 but S6), upgrading from a SE 4 branch steering wheel with paddles. It was completely plug & play on mine, so wonder if the airbag that you sourced is really for an A6?

    2017 A6 Terrible MPG -HELP

Is it regenerating constantly? When you switch off the engine is the engine fan still turning? I know of one example (3.0 BiTDI though) where regeneration took place on every single journey, which was cured through a software update.
