I suppose it's difficult to scientifically prove the effects without a rolling road/equipment etc... before and after...but all I can reliably say is, as monitored by my fuelly account, the mpg was not affected over 3 months after the update...but that's my input for a 136, suspect every engine...
I've had my 2012/A4 136 2.0 TDie done about 2.5 months ago and can say I can feel no difference to the vehicle performance. It was optional but decided to go ahead just in case of any future shenanigans and so I had it on record I've done it. I can now remap in confidence... not sure this logic...
I've had a Thule 900 for 18yrs, it's sat on a Cavalier, Omega, A4 B5, Jeep cherokee(s) and a Saab 93, just change the foot packs..parts are cheap and freely available on ebay.... Just clean the salt/dead flies off each time you use it and it will look fine..
62 plate TDIe 136 with 100k on the clock.. I calc the mpg myself rather rely on the computer and are getting ~43mpg on urban driving including a motorway trip once in a while.. the computer says.. ~50mpg. I've seen the computer say 55mpg on occasion but averaging out across the tank its not...
Mine to... 2012 136 TDIe , was going to get a remap but absolutely no point now ( am I right in thinking that?) .. could be hard on the remap folks financially unless they provide a free remap update after the official one.. just a thought..maybe a box type like DTUK might be better.. happy to...
