I'd stick with hand polishing but I don't think it should be a problem. Try Scholl S20 Black.
Yep, I use a CTEK5.0 permanently attached the battery terminal under the bonnet. Car sometimes doesn't move for 2 months at a time, no issues starting at all.
Smart charger on the battery would be a good start if you can, roll the wheels backwards and forwards to prevent flat spots every couple of weeks,I'd also fill the tank with fuel to stop condensation forming especially as we go into Autumn.
Fair play, I can only speak from experience and my late 2008 car did 125k from brand new with only a heater matrix failure, same clutch too. I especially loved the damping on the light adjustment button, it was a joy.
The B7 was a great package, build quality was right up there for me, everything over engineered and built to last. Can we say the same of todays cars? Am I getting old? I sound like my dad.
