My rack just failed, had communication but motor fault came up on scan. £2950 for diagnosis and new Audi rack fitted at decent independent in southern England.
Who ever does it they will need the car for an hour or two, don’t bother with mobile auto locksmiths they will let you down when they work out what’s involved. Best quote I got a year ago was £140 at an autotech garage. Still only have one key…
The solder pads bonded to the window have come off with the wires so using an iron won’t work. After market May be the way to go. The DAB aerial in my 2012 8.5 is definitely in the shark fin btw
Try changing the o2 sensor immediately in front of the dpf. A forced dpf regeneration killed mine off and brought on engine light. Second hand eBay one fitted (£15) and I got an 5 mpg more. I reckon it had been on the way out for a while giving poor mpg but not enough to bring the light on until...
If the caliper is stiff or partially seized the the motor will have to work harder. This means the voltage at the motor could drop to such a level the car thinks the supply is shorted, giving the error. Could be worth checking out especially if the battery is on the way out.

I fitted a lion from ECP, I made the mistake of not checking that the one they recommend for my car was Right and it turn out to be massively under sized and only lasted for a year. I put the right sized one in (Pro-bat brand) sourced from eBay a few weeks ago, it was only £68 And is so far...
You photo is accurate. Remove the scuttle top panel, you will see the ecu box, remove the 3 torx screw and the ecu lid and you will see what the photo shows. You don't need to pull the ecu right out just carefully move the loom to get to the relay.
I have a 2009 CAGC 120. Bought cheap as high miles, it too had thermostate problem and symptoms of blocked dpf but no error code. I changed both thermostats but although temp improved it was still a bit low. In the end I put an b7 spec 88c thermostat (b8 spec is 82C) in and it now sits on 90...
The fans run on if it's stopped in the middle of dpi regen. Try running a couple of dpi cleaner and injector treatments through, there only a couple of quid and my old b8 seems to breath easier after.
Contact the financial ombudsmen, they regulate insurance in the uk. They have case studies where they have intervened (both ways) on their web site. If you are lucky they may order your policy restored, depends on timings/mitigation really. You don't have much to lose so worth try.
If you have standard headlights then yes! It's nothing to do with the top mounted adjustment screws. On the rear of the headlight near the bottom behind the main beam projecter is an odd protrusion with a black adjustment screw. It looks weird and must have a bespoke adjusting tool to turn it...
Inside the boot in behind the filler cap side trim hatch is the manual red coloured unlock pull cord. By manually unlocking using this cord then locking with the fob a few times I managed to clear these faults. Failing that it's new filler catch mechanism. They are not expensive but Im not sure...
