Maybe it's an intermittant fault on the coil pack, bad connection on the leads or a dodgy spark plug....or none of the above. Could be coincidence (probably) but it was No. 4 cylinder that went on mine both times (coil failure and damp) and the same one on another Altea with similar problems...

As it was a safety issue you would think that they'd give you the bulbs as well.....after all, the cluster isn't much use without them.

Left the car back into the dealers this morning. They hadn't carried out any alignment on the wheels. Offered to straighten the steering wheel by taking it off and turning it a spline or two, but eventually agreed to get the wheel alignment checked. Thanks for all your replies Cheers, G
