    Parrot Kit

We've got it here in our A3: Seems to work OK! Peter

    Double-din conversion clarification

Although looking more closely it's a little more involved; the switch panel/cupholder is now under the stereo, and the cupholder is replaced with a card drawer... Peter

    Double-din conversion clarification

That's pretty much the long and short of it :-) Peter

    Double-din conversion clarification

My partner has a '57 plate A3 Special Edition; that came with manual a/c and a double din Concert II+ CD player (which might have been an upgrade from the standard unit?), so a double din version of the manual a/c defintely exists. If you want pictures let me know and I'll take some tomorrow...

    A3 S/back Discounts?

Dundee Audi :icon_thumright: Having said that, when the car went into our local dealer to have euro plates fitted (we forgot to specify them from new) it was 'rebranded'; new tax disc holder and key rings with Worthing Audi on them :) Peter

Interior Ambeint red lights? Not much glow?

Lucky for you they were there; IIRC the Interior Light Pack on our A3 and A4 was £145!! Peter

    A3 S/back Discounts?

Our A3 was ordered through DrivetheDeal last year; delivered by the dealer on the back of a lory (luckily, since we're on the south coast and the dealer was in Scotland :faint:) After the inital order was placed online (10.5% discount IIRC) all other contact, including payment, was direct with...

Interior Ambeint red lights? Not much glow?

The glow is definitley noticable in ours, though not glaring bright...quite subtle in fact. Worth noting that, IIRC, it does dim up and down with the dash lighting, so if you've turned that right down it won't be as noticable HTH Peter

    Pressed plates

For legal plates I reckon the dealer is the cheapest place; I had the 'plates replaced on my car with euro one. Supplied (and fitted!!) by Worthing Audi for under £24 the pair, including a matching tax disc holder and 2 keyrings :) Halfrauds wanted £25, not incluing fitting (or the fixings for...

    GAP Insurance for the S3

If you only keep cars 6/8 months, doesn't the 'new for old' cover in the first year (on most policies...) give you the same cover as GAP anyway, or are there other benefits? Must admit that my view is that, since I've only written one car off in 20 years, and never had one stolen, I'd rather...

    Retro fit air con?

No experience of retrofitted A/C, but whoever specced your company car was very short sighted. In 1.9TDI form the Special Edition (which is a base model with manual A/C) is only £100 more than the base model, ie the one they ordered!! Definitely avilable with a 57 plate - we have the petrol...

    Wipers - Rest

That was my understanding as well, but it can be slighty annying sometimes when it appears that the wipers aren't properly parked... Peter

    Polish in the Post!

We got one around 4 weeks after the A3 was delivered, but for the A4 (delivered around a month ago) I've had two so far!! The A4 Cab one is much better than the A3 one; IIRC the A3 one just had a series of informative (!) shots on the technological miracles of adjusting seats, mirrors, climate...

    Which one to go for?

Without the part exchange, but that's just me. For me a second hand car, even if just a year old, would have to be significantly cheaper than a new one for me to consider it. If a no options new one can be had for £16,748 there's no way I'd pay £16,500, or even £15,000 assuming you get around...

    Which one to go for?

That's the price before discount!! If you press the 'get your discounted price' button it'll come back with a price of £16,748 (the same as the Sport) - I've just tried it. You might have to register though; just a name, address and email address IIRC OK, so by the time you had a few extras...

    Which one to go for?

Adding an older driver to your policy does often lower your insurance premium; it still does for me, and I'm in my 30s!! £16.5k sounds a lot for an '07 plate 1.9 TDI though - the DriveTheDeal price for an A3 1.9TDI Sport (hatch), albeit with no options, brand new is only £16,750, and the...

    Which one to go for?

I'm fairly sure you don't have to use a PCP with either of those companies; our A3 came from DriveTheDeal, who were offering the best price when we were looking, and although financing the car through them was an option it wasn't essential; we didn't. All dealings after the initial contact...

    Which one to go for?

I think the only Audi in the <120g CO2/Km bracket is this one: http://www.audi.co.uk/audi/uk/en2/new_cars/a3/a3_offers_new/A3_1_9_Special_Edition.html Peter

    Which one to go for?

No, confusingly it's not. SE stands for Special Equipment I think. SE trim is £2,000 more than a 'base' model and comes with climate control, 17" alloys and a load of comfort orientated features (cruise, front arm rest, interior light pack, auto lights/wipers/dimming rvm etc) The Special...

    Which one to go for?

I'm sure all dealers will have either a demo or used 1.6 for you to try; a quick search on the audi.co.uk used car locator for A3s less than a year old with a 1.6 engine currently shows 138 available!! I think we forget that we (people who 'enjoy' cars, join forums to discuss them etc) are not...
