There is no mileage attached to the 8P S3 timing belt. They work to 5 years regardless of mileage.
My 2nd one is due this year and Audi can kiss my *** if I’m giving them £750 for belt and water pump in a car that’s done less than 28k miles in 5 years with ****** all driven in the last year or...
+1 for the Varta here. I put one in my S3. As for the battery charge thoughts, I hear ya. Over the past year whilst not driving, I fitted a CTEK sensor on my battery to monitor the charge and voltage. Charge % isn’t matching any online charts I’ve seen vs battery voltage (CTEK reports lower than...
This is a photo of my Excel spreadsheet I keep for my car. See thumbnail or wherever it is, lol. Apart from the cam belt change at 5 years old, brake fluid, etc, they don’t have time limits on the other stuff, only mileage’s.
Hi Matt - they have changed their wording on the services now. The major does include more, BUT only if they do it! The wording is very clever. It says “if required” so they could change **** all and still charge the extra price. I had a massive argument over this last year when I got a free...
Yeah I agree with S32B - the MOT will not be free with a service plan. It’s free for life after a cambelt change though, which makes sense as we pay so much over the top we have effectively paid for 5 years MOT’s anyway :s3addict:
For anyone interested, there is a 20% discount on service plans until the end of July 2020. I’ve just got one back on my 2011 S3 as they are now included again! Sounds good to me for £384 over 18 months interest free.
I’ve had so many arguments with Sytner Nottm about this and other stuff. Anyway. I have just got myself a 2 service plan now. I used to have one all the time until they started that, “no you can’t have that on an S3”. Anyway, it let me sort it online whereas before it would not accept my car. So...
Another stupid thought.... what info gets wiped from the ECU when you change the battery? I have the RNSE code from last time. That s a long story and ended up with me paying a website to get it, to then arguing with Audi to get a refund as they couldn’t give me the ****ing code! Unreal.
As per topic. Is this still a good battery to get?

Thanks all. I hope you’re all doing ok at the moment?
Is there an error code for a defective heated wing mirror? Near side one doesn’t seem to be working (only one chance to test it so far), although it auto dims ok.
Tonight is the first almost frost I’ve been out in to see it not working. Lol.
T.I.A. folks, [emoji1303][emoji3]
I was thinking of the new Asy 4’s but stuck with the PS 4’s again. I’m gonna measure the tread depth this week. I got a **** set even though it was a recent manufacture date. Lower tread at the start so need to check em. I could have a battle on my hands with Michelin. Lol.
Can anyone recommend me a garage for my S3? I live in Nottm but don’t mind a bit of a travel, say Derbys or Leics, but nothing over 90 mins travel.
My local Sytner (rob you blind £200 an hour) has now opted out of fixed price servicing and service plans, so I cannot even get that!
Do you any of...
I phoned Michelin up about it. They make em 7.5mm but the tolerance is 0.5mm as well. So I kopped for a ***** set this time around. He just said keep an eye on the wear over a few months and phone back if it’s not good. So I’m gonna do that. I’ll measure mine again and see.
