    Jacking points on sills

If it helps anyone....I bought an ice hockey puck off ebay for a few quid, then cut a slit in it using dremel/hacksaw, which kind of mimics the shape of the sill. This then sits on top of your trolley jack and helps spread the load and keep the sill straight.

Cheers! I got the grommets off of eBay, they are a 40mm grommet, there are a couple of part numbers for he same thing, or very similar. I'll find my invoice and post up what the number was. Do a search for Audi/VW 40mm grommet, that will probably work too. HTH

Once the car was back together I then found time last week to fit new discs and pads all round, the old discs were in a bad way on the inner faces. No fancy setup, just Pagid discs and pads from eurocarparts, a good discount on them too. £170 all in. Old!!! New rear... New front...

Back in an S3, this time Imola!

About time I updated this thread.... So since the last update, the car is back on it's winters again. I've changed out the the end of the drivers skirt, just in front of the rear tyre, mine was cracked underneath and managed to get an imola one in good condition from a breaker in Nairn...

    Gear knob choices..

Yeh, bit odd that they have gone for the momo one. Although perhaps the kit doesn't come with the knob and you buy that separately! And the guy didn't. Aye, shame the 8p knob won't fit, as its a nice oem upgrade..

    Gear knob choices..

Having looked closer at the standard 8l gator and is make up, there won't be a way of fitting this knob to the current selector rod pictured above, and I'm pretty sure the 8p set up is very similar to the 8l gator, so I suppose it could take the top off the 8l knob, (the gear selection part)...

    Gear knob choices..

Afternoon all..... I've currently got a aftermarket gear stick and knob on the s3, it's a momo knob with a stick that is a pull up to get reverse job, this was fitted in the car when i got it. Unsure if the gear stick is momo or not, but has a threaded top, and the momo knob has a wee...

    Help identify this plastic piece?

Yeh there should be two under there, one where this one is and the other on the left, right beside the centre console tucked under, it does the same job.

    Frozen out of car already

Locks frozen! Not too sure what can be done about it though, perhaps some wd-40 in amongst it will keep it from freezing up so quick! Going to be even colder tonight they reckon!
