i think grinding the bolt from underneath is the easiest option,dont think you would be able to cut the thick bracket this will be hardend steel(wouldnt be much of a deterrrent if you could easily remove it ),you may want to remove the carpet as the bolts will get hot when you grind off the...
The device is called a multilock they were fitted to a lot of cars around mid to late nineties there was another part which was a big strong padlock and it locked the car in gear,there should be two shear bolts bolted through the transmission tunnel...
I agree,if id known it was going to look as in yer face as that that i wouldnt have fitted it,trying to think of away of disguising it,might end up removing it,yes they are reps,there alright have hit a few potholes and had no probs!
