Hi, got a recall from Audi suggesting that the supplementary heater needs to be replaced as it can lead to smoulder damage or even fire. Anyone else got this recall? Inconvenient as it is, sounds pretty important.
Yes you did. Cheers for that.
A few of you have now mentioned this price match thing, which is what I will try to do with Audi.
Bottom line is: I'm not paying the current Audi quoted prices, thats for sure.
Thanks Scotty. I will phone Audi in the next couple of days to see what they say. Tbh, if they make it hard for me I'm just going to go Indy. Its just oil and filters change. Indy's can reset the service trip computer as well.
I don't have a great amount of time to get detailed quotes.
I'm not so in love with Audi garages and I know they charge far too much.
Hence I'm looking for recommendations for a good Indy place not too far from me (London-Stevenage-Cambridge) I'll obviously get a quote at least.
I also didn't think Audi take this price match thing...
My A4 Avant needs oil change, air/pollen/fuel filter change and gear box oil change.
Called a couple of Audi garages and they are all quoting me £700+ for these.
So I was thinking, if there is a cheaper Indi Specialist (who is good obviously), I would consider it.
Only thing is...
Surely OEM stuff like parking are not modifications!
I was under the impression that if the car was bought with it from factory then it's not aftermarket upgrade.
It's only upgrade if you upped power or changed custom body kit etc.after buying.
Still..... Better to check.
Sorry to hear this mess you are in. Like the above posts says, get on the case and get legal advice. Also read about the consumer rights on used cars. If the garage won't pay for the fix then its your right to reject the car and take a refund. You might have to mention to them that you know what...
OMG I remember the saloon days where the back seats don't fold.
There was one occasion where I offered to carry a chair for a colleague, of course it didn't fit. But the secretary's micra fitted…. was so embarrassed.
Thats reassuring to hear about the service, which is what you'd expect from a premium brand (we are paying for it of course). Not sure how far you are from bromley, but currently I'm prepared to drive 100 miles to get a good/friendly service, as for some reason, the local dealers all seem to be...
I am in a similar dilemma……
I drove BMWs for 10 years before getting the current A4 Avant.
The reasons I left were mainly reliability issues and poor customer services. I don't mean the attitude they spoke to me, I mean the lack of professionalism when servicing my cars. Simple issues cost 5x...
I've gone from a saloon to the avant and I don't think I can ever go back. The avant is way more practical in terms of accessiblity and space. I even managed to get a fridge/freezer in the other day. The look is good also (maybe I'm used to it). Like the others have said, the mpg is similar...
