    New baby forces sale :(

No specific ones at the moment, but I am subscribed to emails from a few leasing companies and the Golf GTI features quite regularly, usually around £250 per month on 8,000 miles pa (which is all we need on our second car). The plan is the sell the S1 and just wait until a stinking offer comes...

    New baby forces sale :(

The 5 door is definitely more practical for us (direct comparison as we have a 5 door and a 3 door). We have an Isofix base in each car. In the 5 door: open the rear door, drop the car seat in, easy. In the S1 (3 door): open passenger door, slide passenger seat forward, wedge it in place with...

    New baby forces sale :(

We have a new A4 Avant, so it isn't a massive drama unless I'm at work. The thing with the S1 is that the pram fills the boot (the parcel shelf now lives in the garage), the dog sits in the passenger foot well, the wife is in the driver's seat, and the baby seat is in the rear nearside on the...

    New baby forces sale :(

After a few weeks of denial, persistence and tears, my wife has eventually decided that the 3 door S1 is not an ideal car for her and the 4 week old nipper! So, in the coming weeks/months we will be looking for something more practical for her, and will sell the S1 privately. Details as...

    Headrests

I purchased new and I have to admit I have just checked the car again and they are indeed leater(ette). In my defence it was dark and late (and had been a long day) when I noticed last night. Thanks to you all for taking the time anyway! I feel like a right tit now! Admin please remove the...

Hill Hold Assist / Auto Hold / Hill Hold Assist Lite

That's weird. I have my Drive Select on efficiency mode (quite often at the moment as trying to get the MPG up!!) and S-Tronic in Drive (well technically it's in 'E') When I pull back on lever into Sport, the Drive Select remains in efficiency mode, and only the gearbox switches to S mode.

    Headrests

Evening all, Something has been bothering me about the headrests and I need to get it off my chest!! I have the S-Line, leather/alcantara seats. The seat outers are leather and he inners are alcantara. The rear seat headrests are leather, but the two front seat headrests are fabric. Is this...

    Persistent rattle

It was the rear shock on ours, they replaced it and the noise has gone.

    Audi Connect/MMI Connect

Evening all, Well I collected my A4 Avant, S-Line, 2.0 TFSI on Tuesday. WOW, what a car! The engine is great and my fears about TFSI rather than TDI have been quashed (although the 35mpg is a bit worrying!). I have been slowly getting to grips with all the tech. I have registered on...

New S1 troubles now needs new bumper

Thanks Andy, The only problem might be is that we have had the car 18 months and didn't bother getting it looked at sooner. It stands out like a sore thumb when the car is nice and clean. Ours is Sepang Blue. All the best.

    Persistent rattle

Update. They think it may be the rear nearside shock. They have ordered another one for fitting and road test in the morning. Fingers crossed!

New S1 troubles now needs new bumper

Sorry to hear that! Hope it all gets sorted soon! Our S1 is in at the moment and I have asked them to look at the rear bumper whilst they have it as we have also noticed the same imperfection in the rear bumper. It can only be seen in bright light but it is definitely there. It looks like an...

    Persistent rattle

Hi all, So we've had the wife's S1 from new since Aug 2015. Wow! What a car! We've embarrassed a few boy racers (and old chaps) in bigger and more powerful cars, great fun! However, from day one there has been a rattle coming from the rear nearside. It's worse at low speeds and when going...

    Carplay

Oh right I see, so connecting via a standard USB to Lightning cable in the armrest also connects the phone to the smartphone interface? I didn't realise that. Now I feel really thick! Thanks for clearing that up! Many thanks.

    Carplay

Hi all, I popped into my dealer today to see my new A4 (pre PDI), and I am collecting it on Tuesday. Luckily we're away this weekend else it would be a very long wait!!! Please tell me if the car comes with the cable for connecting to the Audi Smartphone Interface (with lightning connector for...

    Avant rear bumper protector

Thanks Pork, Was if difficult to affix? I'm one of those that takes an hour to attach a smartphone screen protector and still ends up with a bubble!!

    Avant rear bumper protector

Morning all, **Boring question alert** Does anybody have an Avant with a rear bumper protector on? We have a dog and she's made a mess of the rear bumper on my current car when she jumps in and out she tends to drag her paws across the bumper. Also I have dinked it a few times loading things...

    Avant dog guard

I called Travall and their dog guard for the B9 will be available in the next couple of weeks, priced at £120 inc VAT, quite a saving on the £171 +VAT for the Audi one.

    Avant dog guard

Is that standard, or is that the optional storage pack (with 'load through' provision)?
