Agreed the Bimmer looks stunning in that shade of blue.
I had mag ride on my RS3 and found it very bouncy - something reported by many owners of S3 & RS3.
Car looks terrific :icon thumright:
I think you’ve made a superb choice & a true drivers car that is very engaging. It looks stunning too & very purposeful.
A great write up and a lot of the positives you note I’d say are reflected in my current car. The feeling of being more focussed...
Isn’t the Megane RS still rated quite highly.
I’d say atm the car for driver involvement could be the bonkers Civic Type R perhaps ?
The all weather grip of 4 wheel drive is the main draw for me too. All weather traction, especially in rain makes a big difference if you have a high powered...
ha ha that’s exactly how I was :)
I held off for months going to see one in the flesh for the very same reason ... when I did I was blown away.
in the showroom they had an A35 hatch & a CLA 250 premium plus & both cars were stunning.
From the moment I stepped inside the CLA it was a genuine...
@ everyone in this thread .... lol :tearsofjoy:
please don’t listen to a word Jassy lad says about the current Merc A Class :icon thumright:
he is mega p***** that the car is so good on all fronts and just can’t come to terms with the mighty AMG’s superior attributes.
he’s lost all sight of...
Crikey  I haven't looked at the Golf but that is silly money for a 1.5TSI.
Let's see if they manage to shift any cars at these prices or if we start to see big discounts or price reductions.
Considering an A3 technik (or whtever it is) is around £40k I think its fair to assume the S3 will easily hit £50k or higher which really is madness.
That would mean the new RS3 will be £60k +
I'm not convinced people are gonna have appetites for prices like that, more so considering the dismal...
I think a lot comes down to the Dealer Group too.
I bought all my Audi's from JCT 600 and the Merc Garage was also JCT 600 and they were superb just like Audi were.
Plus the Merc Garage had a Demo car (I also would not have bought without a drive)
Insurance is all over the place !
I’ve been with esure the last few years who’ve always been the cheapest (reputable) company when I’ve checked a comparison on line.
In March this year I needed to change my car from an RS3 to a Merc A45 ... esure could not insure me for that car so I had to...
I’m really pleased with the car mate & it definitely has that ‘special feel’ that my RS3 had. It feels very high end & premium & no squeaks or rattles inside and importantly no squealing brakes outside lol :)
The sound is no match for the RS3 of course but everything else it ticks all the...
I got mine just before all this "covid" kicked in and managed to get a few grand off ... not sure that has any bearing on the market now.
I was a cash sale though with no part ex and was happy to take a pre-ordered car ... it all fell into place.
@jassyo06
Have you seen the prices of the basic A3 technik ?
I was astonished when I looked on the configurator ... the S3 will easily be £50k which is staggering !
It will be a really nice car mate but with exclusive paint it’s gonna be a seriously expensive car.
I dread to think what the...
I have to concur .... the front end of the pre-fl dates back to 2013 so it is an old design now.
But the I can’t abide the alloys on the RS Saloon which look like a Kia design. & the rotors look so wrong on the saloon too, not to mention their age.
The new car platform & design is very much...
I think it’s maybe as I know how prominent my RS soundtrack was then as to me that sounded very muted. I’ve seen videos of the current RS Q3 and that sounded better so hopefully it will be more like that. Agreed a 4 pot will never sound as good.
The trouble is they are toning down the sound with each & every model ... from the pre fl > the fl > the current fl > the new model
I can understand reducing emissions but regulations on sound i don’t see the significance and it’s not like they were overly loud to begin with ... go hear an...
