Well, after just under 4 years the same thing has happened again - same spring too! RAC chap who recovered her again said "I get called to a lot of these". What is it with these springs on A1's?

Just a little update. Audi have checked all the springs and there is no sign of any fatigue. They have therefore put it down to a "manufacturing defect". Car will be in for a couple of days - in the meantime, wife has a new S3 Quattro to be driving around in! :D
