    DeCat Yet Again!

Ronnie it has been pointed out on numerous of the above posts that the whole entire point of putting the sensor in a sleeve or plug anti-fouler is to give a false reading to the ECU in order that there are no errors or CEL. The pre and post sensors are supposed to give different readings...

    DeCat Yet Again!

@Ronnie: Just relocate the sensor it as easy as anti fouler or sleeves etc. By doing what ESM recommends makes the 2nd sensor redundant from its intended job. That is to determine if your main cats is functioning correctly. This could cause you problems if the cat has failed and you go for an...

    DeCat Yet Again!

The car is a B6 S4. I will be welding new bosses AFTER the main cat(s) and plugging the old ones with blanking plugs. The sensor(s) will then be screwed in and the probe(s) WILL be in the gaseous flow. Have a search on Audizine for "piggies" or search the VASTPERFORMANCE website for pictures.

    DeCat Yet Again!

My car has a straight downpipe from the exhaust manifold with the sensors installed. The main cats are 100 cell but the sensors are in front of the cats. Therefore, al four sensors are reading the same value resulting in erros andan eventual CEL. I am gonig to move the main cat sensors to behind...

    DeCat Yet Again!

I have removed both of my pre-cats and passed the MOT. Currently I do get error messages but the main cat sensors will be relocated ot the rear and tis should solve the problem. The reason for the messages is due to all 4 sensros getting the same reading. Fuel consumption on a long run is better...

New Audi S4 (54) Owner needs advice!

They are a pain to change. The sensor cable(s) for the main cat sensor(s) is attached to the top of the gearbox. Therefore, it has to be lowered in order to uncouple the wires. The pre-cats are a bit easier to change and can be reached from the engine bay. the correct tool is needed otherwise...

    Wiper Blades

Halfords DO offer wiper blades for a B6 because I bought a set at the weekend, £26. I think the number is 065's. Admittedly their parts catalogue does state that they do not supply wiper blades for cars older than 2001.

A4 S4 03 Plate - Possible new owner with modification questions...

26mpg for a full tank of fuel is not possible you know that I know that. But then again I have never claimed a full tank wil give such comsumption. I have said that it is not all doom and gloom. I have witnessed 26mpg. dantheman has witnessed 24-25mpg as has MattS3 (24, 25, 26mpg not a lot in it...

A4 S4 03 Plate - Possible new owner with modification questions...

James. I too am trying to offer a new potential owner some realistic and factual advice. The 26mpg was achieved on a 75 mile trip. I regularly see 24mpg on the same journey. This does include some bahn blasts too. So not pure Miss Daisy driving. And not your not being faecestious :) Anyway...

    S4 buying advice

I agree aragorn. This is the thing about owning cars. From my experience I would say that warranty is not necessary but James recommends it. In fact in the 6 years I have been driving S-cars I have only had 2 warranty issues, faulty temp sender and door lock, both of which were on the S3. The S4...

I do wish people would read and think pragmatically before they respond. James you seem to making the same simple mistake as NHN, aragorn. In that you read that I have SEEN 26mpg and straight away you assume that I always achieve 26mpg. Dantheman has also stated he has SEEN 25mpg. 26mpg is not a...

    S4 buying advice

They are well built cars. With a few known problems, aux rads, start up rattle, oil consumption. The start up rattle is not a big issue just a little disconcerting at first if your not aware of its causes. (Low oil pressure on the chain tensioner). This soon goes away after oil pressure rises...

No re-read my post. I never said that I have managed to bring on brake fade. The standard brakes on the S4 are very good. Much better than the M3 stoppers. Just pointing out that contrary to NHN claims that off the all possible upgrades available for the S4 brakes are the most difficult, limited...

No suspension upgrades? Tish K&W and H&R both do various coilover packages. The RS4 rear anti roll bar is an even cheaper suspension upgrade. The biggest problem with the S4 is finding alternative brake upgrades other than RS4 or Brembos.

No dreaming required NHN. 26mpg can and has been achieved in my car. Obviously you have a problem controlling your right foot for you not to see more than 22mpg. Is this why you now own a diesel? *** I even achieve 22mpg on my short commute to work. Aragon: Fuel consumntion is also a function...
