Thanks for your support,
Im hoping to get it sorted one way or another this week, so i'll post the result.
I suppose most people blame audi, but i guess the DPF is forced upon them by the EU.
Is the EU good for anything ???
Thanks for your help,
I did some more reading and I think your right about the DPF. The sensors throw a different code. My code is definitely DPF related.
Cars in limp so wont rev above 3k. I figure best chance is to hold 3000 rpm on my drive for a while to get exhaust super hot. I'll just...
Im not entirely convinced the DPF is totally blocked. The engine went into limp mode less than 50 miles after the DPF warning light came on.
So either the light came on too late, or the filter isn't badly blocked.
I thought the sequence was supposed to be:
1. filter is 45% blocked - engine...
I plan to give the diesel a good old italian tune to get the DPF hot.
1st I have to get it out of limp mode, I've tried erasing the fault code with my code reader.
As soon as i turn ignition on, the fault code comes back.
How do i get out of the limp mode ??
Im thinking DPF delete, but need to discount any simple sensor fixes first.
Also the delete pipe (£360 ish) needs the software to go with it (£???). Custom code have it in one of their remaps. I wonder if they can just provide the pipe and DPF delete software? I dont want the performance Remap.
4000 rpm for 10mins,
Not sure i could do that to my own car :(
Maybe the works van, but not my beloved Audi !
I read that constant high revs at light load is the way to go, foot on the floor = more fuel = more soot = more blockage.
What are the chances of me getting out of limp mode...
Fault code reader says 08194
Google says - 08194 particle trap bank 1 efficiency below threshold
does this mean anything to anyone?
My plan is to see if i can clear the code, then go for a good run and see if the fault repeats. I drove it back tonight at 2500 - 3000 rpm all the way...
I heard that you had alot of involvement with my car in its previous life. I am a big fan of the whole OEM plus scene.
The work you have carried out on my car is a big achievement, it is no easy task to modify cars these days, what with all the electrickery. You should be proud.
First off, I would like to say Hi to all forum members.
I have been reading these forums for a little while (in the background). And now have an A3 170 s-line of my own. Some of you will be familiar with the car, as it is Jordans old motor (smudge_don), yes the one that had the TT-RS brakes...
